Man, don't torture yourself. Gog version is perfect for any game, MP or single. Of course, you can also download it free from some torrents, but we are not allowed to give such links here, then some may install you some nasty trojans too.
Gog prices are also very low.

Pirates these days don't even know what virus means, back in my day, i'd torrent two tons of games and i find no viruses. just use this, bro, has the best torrents

map making
Not sure where else to ask this, hopefully someone can help. I'm trying to make a map and I'm having issues with the AI's behavior. Does anyone have a full list of all the spells the AI cannot cast?

I'm testing an HotA map where I gave one opponent four very strong heroes with Horns, Armors of the Damned and effective army, then I covered the terrain with legions of Ogres, so they get hundreds of thousands of Fangarms.
I made him my ally for testing purposes and he is loosing some of these heroes. My guess is they get negative (too many troops and primary skills may turn army value negative...) and it's because of that that they disappear from the map. Does anyone knows anything about this?

I never tried but here is what I would do: replicate same pattern in a wog map, then use a BA script flagged to AI (&-1000). With BR trigger I would separate every battle round then do a loop through all stacks of your hero and check numbers and casualties.

I don't see how can I simulate the growth of Fangarms in Wog.
He usually loses against trapped gold piles, can it be that effect you once said it happens in Pandora Boxes and Local Events? That the results of those fights aren't predictable cause of bad simulation...

In SoD_SP I prevented army strength overflow (observed in map The Last Crusade) but last I checked (1.4.2) Hota had not fixed it... in combat heroes with large amount of army were considered to have negative power and lost immediately.

Thanks, that's what I believe is happening. Does this means I can't have overpowered heroes moving around? I'm pretty sure one can have a boss with 69993 Azure Dragons if he is inside a castle, I did something similar in my other map but I'm guessing this idea of have heroes with Cloaks and Horns fighting legion after legion of meat may not work...
