The 40 Most Breathtaking Abandoned Places In The World
I didn't want this link to get lost or deleted in the Random Thoughts thread, some of these places are creepy but some are outright beautiful.
And if all the photographs are taken by the same person, it's a hell of a work. (Edit: They are not though.)

Some of them are so darn creepy that I'd downright wee myself if I ended up there alone with no bars during nighttime...
EDIT: I swear that doll just moved!

most of them, i just see a lot of pollution. and what will be left behind once humanity's gone. some pretty sad pictures, overall. some of them moved me with how sad they are. i liked the picture with the flowers in the abandoned french train track, though. it's nice that nature will eventually outgrow us.

I have a lot of pictures like these as wallpapers. Abandoned places make great sights.
Used to have them in Finland too but not really any nowadays.
Perhaps after they decide to kill the little what's left of our independence 90% of the country will be abandoned.

I can't shake the feeling that the piano in the woods is the one they used in the video clip of Strawberry Fields, back in the 60's

the house in virginia was painted by retards. that isn't blood; it's paint. the scene is set up to terrify strangers(either maliciously, or for a goof), i highly doubt it's an actual place used for rituals of any sort, other than stupidity.

The library in Russia.... What a waste. Orzie, go save those books and give them to a community center or something!

those that left the bugattis to rot have no heart and soul.
Disgusting to abandon such pieces of automotive history.

A few months back I saw a couple of Docs about Abandoned America and some sort of world version. Not only sad...but damnit irresponsibly wasteful too. Detroit is a real nightmare.
I'd say find those Docs but after I saw them I was more than a little tiffed. But far worse, I realized I had watched the stuff for entertainment. Making beautiful pictures doesn't make tragedy...beautiful.

Well, not all of them are tragic. What's so tragic about an abandoned boat house or a naval station.

To clarify, some of the pictures you linked, do fit, but I've also seen "some" of the subject matter on a far larger scale. Watch the Docs I mentioned and I think you'll feel the same as I do. You're after all, a sensible fellow...sometimes
