35/36/29... Faces falls and Shield rises? There's still a few days left... perhaps Shield will survive yet.

Personally I have NEVER assumed upgrades to be the same units.

...

The way I always saw it is that upgraded buildings give U access to creatures of higher rank/more powerful of the specific FAMILY or GROUP of creatures (similar in appearance but not quite the same species). If You can afford to build simple buiilding no elite creature would be found there so You will be getting only mediocre units. When U upgrade the building suddenly U can hire elite specimens of the given group.

Except ... consider the following case: in one of your towns, you upgrade a creature dwelling from base tier to upgraded tier. However, since you bought creatures from it earlier that week, no creatures are present. Next, a Hero enters town with 100 base creatures. You upgrade them. Now, with your scenario in mind, we can ask a few questions:
- Where did the base creatures go?
- Where did the upgraded creatures come from (as you couldn't recruit any before)?
- If the base creatures and upgraded creatures aren't the same, why can't the base creatures stay and you simply add the upgraded ones?

You could argue that the dwelling actually houses a lot more creatures than you can recruit, whose population generates new units every week so you simply exchange the base ones for the upgraded ones - but that raises another question: why can't those lazy sods help defend your town in case it's put under siege?

Valid point but since You want to take everything so literally explain me how a dragon, a minotaur, a hydra and a bunch of elves can FIT on one NIGHTSTALKER?? How come U see only one elf on a mount instead of army of dozens creatures? Lets not try to find rationalism in the mechanics of a fantasy game . I have given You solid explanation regarding upgradeded creatures and ofc if You have nothing more important to worry You can be still upset about Doe turning into a deer hehe. I'm not bothered by it at all.

Standings: 36/36/28

I'd say that Shield members were going over to Blade if the previous standing right before that wasn't 35/37/28. All I know is that the polls are, as usual, in flux.

Ain't going to be any changes. An 8% spread is too much distance to cover. Faces and Blade are going into the next round, as is my contempt

I should make an all-manticore faction in the Altar as a form of nonviolent protest to this outrageous infraction of justice.

Two words: Sylvan's Fury.

Good job Blade! Now Shield, double time! Eliminate those stupid Medusas!

The difference between this situation and the Sylvan one is that everytime Shield gains a percent, Blade also gains one. The gap has consistently been 8% for quite a while now and that is Shield's greatest hurdle.

But if this pattern continues, both of them may be able to pass Faces. Which is something I don't like at all

Well, I'd blame the stupid constructs. I'm not overly enamoured with the Blade line-up either, and I could live without the Faceless if it ment Manticore instead, but frankly, the idea of the construct seems to boring, ill-fitting and unimaginative that I refuse to vote for either Faces or Shield.

The shadowsteel constructs, to me, just scream "We put a lot of effort into renaming those resources, and we're going to justify their existence!"

In my case it is the Shadow Unicorn that prevents me from liking Blades If those could be replaced with something else, I'd appreciate the line-up a lot more. In this case I'd rather have Striders.

I think that the constructs fits dungeon well. Gives them more depth beside shadows and poison. It also makes them rival academy in reanimating dead objects, a bit like the rivalry between the old warlock-dungeon and the old academy.

Conversely, the Shadow Unicorn is what is drawing me towards Blades as my post-probable-Shield-loss option. The issue I have with Faces is that, in my eyes, it's too low on "beasts" - Trogs and Medusas are too humanoid, and the Striders... well, they're an unknown, but I suspect them as also being humanoid. That would only leave the Champions to serve that role... insufficient, I say. Between the Shadow Unicorns, the Shadow Lurkers, and the much more alien Faceless, my "beast" quota is met. That, and I like the theory of "When Raelag became Agrael, he brought the Nightmares with him to Inferno" theory.

At the rate that faces is loosing %, if only shield can get a few of those then it might get over faces just in time.

In any case, this flux seems so strange. It would be interesting to know if it is mainly produced by new voters or vote switching.

No one asked you though.

Anyway if the souless isnt spiderlike. I hope it looks like te automatons from AoM. The backstory of those is pretty cool (they caused a civil war in Atlantis because some wanted to give them rights, those people lost)

Thematically constructs fit any magical faction with low population numbers.

So much fluctuation it's pretty suspicious. Feels like Sylvan line-up vote.

AoM is great. Loved playing as the Atlanteans.

I was thinking something along similar lines, just with more of a "black knight" look with shadows pouring out of them. Also, maybe a twinge on the floaty side, like a mobile suit of hollow armour.

35-36-29.

Ok. Imma say what I think about this. The Sylvan vote recount didn't stop the cheating. I am entirely sure it's happening all over again. And it will still happen no matter what. The only solution would be to force vote recounts on each poll, which seems ridiculous but there's no other way to ensure validity. I think we all kept silent about this more or less, because of past events we don't want to think of, let alone bring up, but that's an unhealthy attitude towards the essence of what voting represents. I just want this to be fair and not manipulated by cheaters.

Of course, people also change their votes, no doubt about that. But I can't say that the current percentages are a result of just that. I highly feel that it's not. If Sylvan line-up vote was of any indication, it was that massive cheating can happen and did happen in that vote. I suspect the same situation to be also true in the case of this vote.
