I am not him, but I was a Shield voter.
I voted for Faces in the second round, though. Shield and Faces had more similarities than Blade did. Both had Trogs, both had Stalker, both had Strider, both had a past unit (Medusa or Manticore), it's that one had Assassin instead of Lurker, and a specific Medusa/Manticore position. Both had 2 shooters, with no attack and return units.
Blade was much more different from Shield, as it had no Trog, no Stalker, only sharing the Lurker, but no Strider as the Faceless took that niche, and and it's past unit as the Nightmare. I really can't see how Shield and Blade are so similar. 2 attack and returns instead of none, only one shooter. I'd ask if he was just a Blade voter in the first place.

Well... I'm so surprised that the only time I've ever voted with the minority so far was with the sylvan ambience. Not sure how moonlight elves will work but not a deal breaker.
But yay Medusae!!!

No, I was a Blade voter. I am disappointed the Faceless was voted out in favor of two H3 units and some golem-like unit. But even if Blade had won, I'd still be disappointed, since they pulled the Hydra vs Black Dragon stunt that I already hated in H4 (where Asylum was my least fav faction), yet I'm still happy Dungeon won since we get an Inferno-free game.

Well, I always had an inner hope that Faceless could make it in the lineup in the end. From this point of view, I am a bit disappointed. I can only hope Faceless will return as heroes maybe, or at least contribute to the campaign plot somehow. But, still, I will play the game. After all, my 2nd favorite faction (1st has always been Necro...) has made it into H7. No big deal my preferred lineup lost, as long as the winner consists of well designed creatures and the outcome turns the tides towards an overall balanced game.
