Once Again:
Boys. There is a problem with Heroes 3. I write it again. We have a big map, we have more monsters, artifacts, buildings. A development of the hero ends in about 27 lvl. ( Lack of skills ) .
Posting same poop twice doesn't make these ideas any better.

Synergies are a complex thing, would require one of your 'honest' mods and not some "épater le bourgeois" thing like Emerald (sorry, I know I insulted the sacred father).
Some of his ideas are good for Era (if you want to code them) but completly out of touch with HotA concept. That last one otoh is pure cheat, I'm even embarassed I never tought of something similar to counter your BAI 1000%.
But I admit that to make a joke I misrepresented his ideas, just to be fair. I'm sorry Janosiczek.

I want to play a wizard with archery specialty, be it Theodorus (archery instead of balistics) or an extension one. Why? Since wizards get terrible primary skills (specially before level 10) I'm curious to see how that type of magic hero with might specialty would work.

I was replaying today 2 battles from Alexander, one battle being against immune to hit azure dragons, therefore I had to raise my spell power to 100 and lower anything else at the arcane tower. Then, right after that battle, the next was pure might where the guy had something like 102-102 vs 60-60 mines, and I was archery specialist, level 56, so very confident. I didn't stand a chance, my archers arrow went like broken against a wall, got crushed in few turns.
Came back to arcane and reset my might stats to higher than his, and this time I prevailed. The thing is, in this game, might specialty is poo poo if might stats are lower than opponent. Your wizard will fail.

I think so, that's why I am so curious. How stronger will you have to be for your specialty work like if it was Crag/Tazar?

For a wizard to have archery speciality, sounds pretty weird, but maybe an alchemist, give him/her mysticism to balance things.
I could understand if it was a ranger, a captain or a barbarian maybe, but not a wizard. That would be like having a barbarian with sorcery speciality. It's bad enough Gird has Sorcery speciality, when she gets low power, knowledge and spells.

No, my idea is preciselly to play the "weird". Instead of an hero whose specialty is useless like Serena, you have an hero whose specialty is great but you have to be on top for it to be worthy.
This is one of my ideas to play Impossible against AI. You start the game with a specialty that is theoretically OP but for now it worth's nothing, as you start prevaling it becames better and better.

imo, is preferable to find a way to improve AI performances, and force yourself to play at maximum of your capacities. Instead of thinking about strange handicaps which bring no fun.
You can also use a setup in which you dismiss every hero which levels beyond level 5, for example. Now try to win!

That's the opposite, you never get a godly like feeling even if it's harder.
Look at how Luna and Ciele work, they are great cause you can take some early fights with them you couldn't with a might hero, then it loses interest cause you never use the spell again.
Now, this hipotetic guy gives nothing for a while but would be working well at this point, right?

Just thoughts...not requests.
What if Vial of Dragon Blood was available on random maps? It seems like a balanced artefact. It might be annoying to get it if you have no dragons, though, and there's a slightly smaller chance to get those want-to-have relics like Earth Book in a Utopia.
Also, what if it also granted Dragon Flies like +2 attack +3 defense (half the stats), since they have some dragon blood in their veins?
Also, if you leave the vial in a town, it could grant a +1 to dragon dwellings.
**
What if you could see be the magic shcool type of a Magic Arrow used? That way you'd know which protection to use.

I have enabled Vial of Dragonblood in my map, it might be a little advantage for Dungeon, Rampart and Necropolis, but Black and Gold Dragons can't be resurrected and Ghost Dragons are weak, besides everyone can get Fairie, Rust, Crystal and Azure Dragons.
Adding +1 to growth seems OP to me though.
Any protection spell will protect against Magic Arrow, as it belongs to all schools.

Ah, yes, you're correct about this. I just tested it to be sure. I thought that if you had e.g. Basic Air and Expert Earth then the Magic Arrow would be a Earth spell. But it makes sense, because if you had two magic schools on Expert then the game couldn't pick one of them over the other. So it make sense that the Magic Arrow is part of all the schools, and thus any protection will work. Funny that I didn't figure this out before.

I like that Idea... if growth isn't global but for that town. I also think for a relic its okay, would also be for a major artifact without +1 growth.

I like the Seafaring Academy, but I think it is too much you can buy skills all the way up to expert, I think it should work like universities, teaching skills at basic level only.
Also Battle Mages won't benefit from Navigation in Seafaring Academies, as they can't learn Navigation naturally. Maybe their skill chances could be altered slighty, giving them a chance to learn Navigation, they could be like Wizards, having the least chance to learn it, but could at least learn it from Seafaring Academies.

For me the skillsystem is broken anyways. you can learn forbidden skills in witchhuts or at scholars too. Granted its super random but stillyou CAN.
Btw. has anyone ever got Galthran on random map, according to HotA team you may get him from prisons...

I don't see what's so great about Galthran, I find Isra, Vidomina and Thant better... New hero Ranloo sucks though.

Galthran is quite unstopable after a certain level, maybe some artefacts that buff primaries (not necressary) and maybe 1000+ skels.

But Isra and Vidomina makes much more skeletons and Thant keeps them "alive". Galthran is'nt the best necro hero, for me at least.

The point is that Galthran boosts them for every level he has. Those skeletons become powerhouses under his command and after a certain level, strength > numbers.

Best way to fight with necro is to use Galthran as main and Isra and Vido for farming skells from small fights (notice that 20 azure dragons give less skells then 60 pikemen).
