Your ideas are hatefull, boring, full of errors and just plain horrible.
Yours are indeed. I'm glad you are aware.
I hate when basic people try to pull off the "I'm better than you" card. They suck so hard at it, it's cringy. I'm going to show you how to make your idea less snow though
Had your formulted it as a mythological/legend based Heroes spinoff (say, Heroes of MYTH and magic) your lineups... well... they would have still been tryhard, but decent. Making a factions by completely ripping off the creatures from an specific bestiary (ie a greek creatures lineup, an egyptian lineup, etc) works good in games set in Earth, not in fantasy kitchen sink games and sadly for you heroes has always been the later.
I really reco mend you playing Age of Mythology or Master of Olympus-Zeus. There are even spartoi there

Honestly I can not at all understand all the hate in this thread. (from all sides!)
I have seen quite some mythology-based proposes in the last years and I think this one is not bad at all. I don't think HoMM should be like that but I think it is nice imagining these factions. And that, after all, is what the altar is about: sharing our (personal!) visions!!!

Well except Einherjars are basically holy warriors, while Trolls are little more than simple-minded, human-eating thugs. I can't say much for the rest of them (not huge on most mythologies), although I note there seems to be a lack of an Indian-myth based faction.

Indian as in Hindu? Or Indian as in Native American?
I did a native american. I can't find enough suiting monsers for a Hindu town...
And Einherjar are holy warriors in the myth I know, but many other sources use them as evil, or warriors for war. As there is no holy stuff in my version of the game, holy warriors are not an option.
Yes, trolls aren't bright, that's why they are easily enslaved or dominated by the (not so bright themselves) Berserkers and Normen.
These will be rock/earth based trolls btw.
Thanks Jiriki9!

So they're basically ghost warriors then?

Well i'm not sure yet how i'll picture Einherjar in my game, could go any road, maybe they aren't even undead, just very spiritual warriors that rised above their own soul/body and which were enhanced by Valkyries (that probably enter town soon or later and replace the Gulon who becomes a neutral.
All creatures in my proposal are creatures that i'm a fan of and which I like, Hindu creatures, while there are few that I like (the blood lords Raktavija and of course the Rakshasa), more of them are bizarre giant world-supporting creatures or God-like beings which I never prefer. only if I find enough cool monsters that suit a theme i'll doing one, as for now I don't spot that many cool ones.
Native American = Indians :-p
Possible Hindu town: Vish Kanya are the main race of the town, they are amazon-like female warriors that use poison to kill their prey, they have snake-like tongues.
1: Preta --> Gaki
2: Vish Kanya Assassin --> Vish Kanya Amazon
3: Vanara --> ??
4: Rakshasa --> Rakshasa Maharaja
5: Naga (more like a D&D-like serpent naga, to avoid too much humanoids in this town)
6: Vish Kanya riding on some poisonous creature like a komodo dragon.
7: Raktavija --> Raktavija Blood Lord
8: Garuda --> Garuda Serpent Slayer
But in the real myth Naga's HATE Garuda, maybe some forced alliance can help overcome that though, sometimes stronger enemies force former enemies to join forces. That also creates very interesting storylines, when enemies are forced to work together to fight an greater enemy together, many cross-cheating and powerplay in this town.
Many SINS in this town, I mean, the Vish Kanya are GREEN with envy, the Gaki are greed spirits, Rakshasa are gluttonous, Garuda and Naga have their pride and the Raktavija are burning with wrath.

Quote: Yes indeed... Minotaurs and Medusa's and harpies are underground creatures...
My my... not getting the difference of underground and underworld. Let me rephrase: darker mythological and fantastic creatures.
Also, mazes are mostly underground.
Edit: My last comment could have been seen as baiting so i decided to remove it. I know about settings that have open world living minotaurs. Some of them being seafarers.
Anyway im going to stay away from this thread... its not worth the lost IQ points.

The creator of this topic thread has a serious point, here.
Starting a totally new franchise out of the Might and Magic genre of gameplay.
The name should called: Earth's Ancient Civilizations of Might and Magic. And, the version of the game's name should be: The Mythological Age.
Each factions' Heroes would be the most notoriously brave warriors of the time and, later on, these heroes could be promoted to very high ranks of Military's diverse distinctions.
Spell Casting and the general use of Magic will have to be created from scratch as to what the powers of Nature can provide, plus, using Humanity's ingenuity at figuring out how the arcane powers this world of ours can provide to brilliant minds such as High Druids, Sorcerers and, Arch Mages.
