And are you gonna allow for template uses since the rmg that the editor uses makes things werid.
No, I am not making my own template. I am moving away from the template system, making RMG from scratch.
For templates, you can already use any template you want though, the Map Editor uses the template rmg.txt in data folder. I might make a feature to easily select this HD mod-style.

As I am saying in the post you are quoting it uses rmg.txt from the data folder. If you do not have a rmg.txt there I think it picks an internal template at random, someone can correct me on this if that is not the case, but that it uses rmg.txt I do know and you can confirm it yourself. The map description will always say which template was used.

Awesome work dude, everything works fine except if you open the game while you're selecting the rmg presets the game freezes other than that I cannot find any other issues.
Edit: This was probably the issue with the older versions aswell, when you're recreating a random map with the same settings it just replaces the resources and doesn't redo the entire map. So you have to redo the map with some other template and then redo it again with the template you used before.

When you select to start a new game, HD Edition asks Windows "hey which maps do I have in the maps folder?". Instead of getting that question answered instantly, the RMG dialog is launched and only when you click OK and your map has been generated and put in the maps folder is HD Edition getting its answer back so it can go along with its business (and "unfreeze").

I don't think you understood what I meant, when the window which lets you choose all the stuff for the RMG, template etc is open, if you then open the game again, it feezes.
I can't recreate this problem when running in windowed mode.

Well the only thing I'm saying is the game is _always_ frozen as soon as the RMG dialog appears. Specifically it is waiting to know which files exist in its maps folder which it won't get to know until you press OK on the dialog. The game will not do anything, including redraw the menu, until it receives its answer. This is the same in Windowed mode, however the consequences of trying to bring the game to the front might be different between the two.

Yeah, if you open the game again the window becomes inaccessible and you have to kill h3maped to make it run properly again.

0.51 works flawlessly, are you considering letting us ban objects/factions and what not to balance the game?
With the HD mod you could use plugins which let you just that and I always banned cartographers because they'll ruin the game completely.

I have a database of object name (as it appears in Map Editor)->object data for every single object (1000+) in RoE, AB and SoD. Let's just say it will come in handy for purposes like this and that this is just the beginning.

For random map, which language do you have in Heroes 3 Complete? Did you look for Random Map in your map list? Did you get this dialog? http://i.imgur.com/dQUbFG4.png

I downloaded pack and placed in map folder, I can see that maps in map list.
everything English, I got dialog and "generating map.." loading bar, seems working but no random map. not in directory too.
If you need to check, I can give you my teamviewer for around 20:00 PM GMT+2

Ok thanks, it would be interesting for me to see if it is a bug that I can solve. I might not be online at that exact time, but add me on steam.
EDIT: I saw your comment on youtube now where you said it told you that it could not copy gzip_utils.dll and that you should copy it yourself which you did. The fact that it failed this copy (simple copy file operation) means it is likely that it also fails to create/copy the map file (the random map file is first created in data <slash> maps as rmgtmp, then altered and copied to for example data <slash> maps <slash> EN). Do you know if you have Antivirus or other software/settings that could intefere?
