The Choice - Tears or Blood?
Out of all the campaign heroes, which path did you choose for each of them and why?
For me, it'd be:
Anton - Tears
Anastasya - Blood
Kiril - Blood
Irina - Tears
Sandor - Blood
As for the reason... Somehow, I just tried to think which they could be canonically. Anton is all too obvious, with all the cynematics, cutscenes and promotional artwork, even though his personality actually fits Blood instead...
For others, maybe with exception for Kiril, I basically wondered which outfit fits them best. Is that a weird approach...?

Currently, my Blood and Tears choices are based mostly on the abilities a hero receives when going down either path. Inferno Magic for instance has Armageddon as its Tier 2 Blood ability. At level 30 and with the Rank 5 Will of Urgash, that's really effective.
It wasn't like this when I started H6, though. I made Anton follow the path of Tears, maybe because it was easier to just let everything run away or Tears was always a more suitable choice when you had to decide what to do. This gave him some abilities which didn't always proof useful. Martyr? I suppose Anathema is better, with the subsequent Hour of Judgment. Fortunately though, there is the Edge of Balance dynasty weapon which allows you to use abilities from both sides. I think that has helped me win A Battle Lost and Won.
I put Irina on the Tears-path too, probably for the same reason. The others however, are all Blood (so I did exactly the same as you ). Blood has the advantage of gaining exp by continuosly hunting monster stacks. Also, map locations such as Arenas and Arcane Libraries give extra might or magic power if you select Blood. Somehow I value power over defense. I think if I would replay the campaigns I'd make different choices. I've seen Anton and Irina in Tears Such as Angels Weep, and I'd like to know their Blood-stories in the other epilogue.
Blood kind of suits Anastasya, imo. Wrongfully accused and murdered, she seeks vengeance on Uriel, and wasn't exactly keen on Michael either (she reminded him of what she did to his brother). She has an attitude, I like that. And yes, Anton's persecution-soaked way of thinking in his first campaign level does suit the Blood side, but he is humbled at the end of mission four, where he acknowledges that people should be free to believe what they want. Putting him on the path of Tears kind of seems to 'help' him realize his wrongs. Kiril started to enjoy his demon possession, so Blood probably is in order.
Sandor, leading Orcs...kind of speaks for itself. Although I replayed the first two levels to put him on Tears in order to obtain a dynasty weapon. Blood kind of suits him too. He really has that 'don't mess with me'-attitude.

When it comes to personality, I must say I felt the same about Anastasya, Kiril and Sandor, so their attitudes did have some influence on my choices. Nice to hear that Anton gets better later on, I guess. That would mean Tear choice for him isn't all that irrational.
Still, while I do think Blood reputation fits Anastasya, I can't exactly picture her doing that Blood mission in the epilogue, since she'd be way more likely to oppose Michael in favor of her mother, for the reasons you stated yourself.
I haven't played these missions yet, just read about them, so I think the way things stand right now, with these choices, I consider choosing Irina and Sandor for their respective alignments, perhaps later giving it a try with Anton and Kiril.

Just like I couldn't imagine Anton's part in the Tear-mission, where you have to fight Michael. Why would he of all people go up against him? But, as always, there is a reason. Anton sides with Elrath and believes it is time for Michael to return, along with a whole lot of souls unnecessarily trapped where they don't belong.
I'm not sure what Anastasya's motives were to go against Cate, guess I have to play that again to find out.

On a side note, I normally don't like changing affinities, but I changed Irina's to Might - she's portrayed as a Might hero in all the artwork portraying her, and it also fits her character, so this one just made more sense.
