Justicar doesn't look all that impressive, to be honest. Artwork does look good, but it looks... surprisingly weak as an unit.
They look like some skinny woman jumping around the battlefield, pretty much... Not a front line material.
Perhaps they'd feel stronger if they looked more like their DoC counterpart
(minus the exposed thighs thing ofc)
...Although it still doesn't look a frontline material.
Edit: Nevermind, it's probably the animation that bugs me... but that being said, we did not see them in-game, so I'm still concerned...

Lamasu, ghost, and vampire is not many? Wouldn't it be like 3:1 against a single male lich?

that gender change is kind of a big deal though. we already have a bunch of guys in these roles, let some be ladies.

man, i wished the blood monster was female though id prefer it with less leather and spikes either way.

and realistic! i think the biggest contribution to the weak look is that she shows her jaw and neck. fully covering helmets makes you look way beefier even if the armour is smaller than the justicars.

well, mostly thinking historically. besides, that would be 2/2 since the Lamasu is a beast but the reaper also exists. it would also be 1/1 in Elite tier, showing some balance in the upper tiers and that girls can be elites in necropolis too .
i don't want us to miss this opportunity, guys

Dude, you are aware that you are voting based on gender, right? You're no different than Jeremiah here, only that he is on the opposite side of the spectrum.
But then again, I can't blame you, because this vote basically asked for it. Seriously now, there is no difference between the Night Lady and the Vampire Knight apart from gender, and the Knight is very much the same concept as the Heroes 6 vampire. And the reason we have this vote now is because many of us didn't wanted a Heroes 6 vampire again. You follow? So I'm not voting for gender here, I couldn't care less about that. I want to vote for a vampire archetype/model/you name it, and the Blood Monster is the closest to what I want, with the claws and the big collar. I'm hoping for a good sanguinary coloring with more red and black and it's a great deal for me. It can even be female, I don't really care. I just don't want that sword wielder aristocrat again!

Eh, I'm not too fond of putting girls in the lineup. Ghost is pretty decent, I wouldn't mind female priestess or angels either - call this generic, but that's exactly what units are supposed to be - a generic representation of full-fledged armies.
I mean, when H7 Haven army fights, are there legions of women with swords that are more resembling of daggers? That's kinda the mental image I get, and I don't like it.
Stevie said: I just don't want that sword wielder aristocrat again!
I'd love to see a sword-wielding vampire aristocrat and would most likely vote the Vampire Knight, but I'm not sure if Ubi can do it right. Blood monster would be something relatively new, so I want to see it.
Night Lady also looks pretty and all, but... like I said, I would rather see her as a character rather than a representation of a military unit.

big difference is that i want everyone to be fairly represented. This, in contrast To Jeremiah who doesn't want to give women a chance.

you are sadly correct. i am mostly voting on gender, but it needs to be said that the new designs are much more toned down and reasonable. i agree with you about most of this, except i feel the need to show proper gender representation is more important than getting a more savage vampire. It's a difference in values and i kinda hoped i could get you over, but alas. female blood monster would be the best of both.
that being said, now that i know a female vampire was on the table, if it were to lose it might be a deal-breaker for me

Er... you do realise that a vampire with a weapon is going to be more effective than a bare-handed one, same as a super human astartes with a sword is going to be effective than a bare-handed one?
vampires clawing at armor and stuff is just plain stupid. They aren't wild beasts with no intelligence.

Same here. It's as senseless as Spider-Man with a machine gun. I cant help feeling like the ones who support sword vampires are all 14 year old kids whose idea of cool revolves around things like Transformers and 3D shiny. ZombieWizard is right though, it's not just the sword, in Ashan, what's left of the actual vampire is mostly just a name.

Marzhin said: Also, if Bram Stoker's original Dracula novel, while sunlight weakens the titular character a little bit, it doesn't kill him. That came later, from the movies I think.
How is that going to work in a computer game anyway, they wont fight in battles during daylight? (Although reduction from attack and defense might have worked and it would have been a lovely detail bringing in tactical depth.)
That's not the point though, bending this or that vampire attribute that is now canon (regardless of the novel) is fine and sometimes even necessary. But changing everything from A to Z, even things related to blood drinking and involving some spider venom in the process... All of that hardly makes any sense, vampires are cool as they are, that's why they are among the most classical monsters of all time.

This is just so wrong on many ways, vampires are supposed to be uber powerful, slashing people in half with just their claws, they don't need pathetic swords, which they break like a twig if not magical or silver.
They are also lightning fast, so they can bite their necks INTACT without any slashing wounds that SPILL the blood on the floor, the vampires want the blood remember...

Those vampire with sword lovers and twilight fangoths don't know it yet but they are fan of the Succubus/Incubus and Fext (slavic undead that is much like Arthas/Death Knight) and not of vampires at all.

With so many awesome unknown blood drinking mythology/folkloric beast out there, I think the vampire is kinda boring in comparison lol.
The only vampire species from myths that I really like is the strigoi, or animalistic/shapeshifting vampire from Romanian mythology. Those often have the designs like the nosferatu movie.
Moroi are more like the twilight vampires, BUT still much more beastly and not pretty persee, they are more like the animated victims of the vampires.

Ashan Vampire:
- Is not affected by garlic
- is not affected by crosses
- does not fear the sunlight
- does not need to sleep in his burrial soil
- does not change to fog, bat or wolf
- can enter the place uninvited
- can-not turn other people to vampires (apparently drinking his blood is not enough, you need spider saliva for that)
- evolves from Lich
- reverse-ages untill he's a baby apparently
- does he even need to drink blood? Even if he does, mosquito and leech also drink blood, and they're not vampires
- stake through hearth dosen't seem relevant, as he can be apparently killed, just like any other person
All this ... Can it still be called Vampire at all? Not in my book. It's just a name at this point. Almost all features that make a Vampire a Vampire are gone / replaced. Yet ... noone seems to care about that. But if he grabs a sharp piece of metal ... it's suddenly too much and totaly uncharacteristic for a Vampire. C'mon people ... realy? REALY?
With the exception of the lich and the reverse aging, neither did the old ones lol

SO can Astartes. Punch people's head from their head, split them in two and more, with just hands and some tiny effort. However, they're still soldiers. And vampires serve in armies as well. Your vampire soldier is not going to charge at enemies and slash with claws, get that out of your head.
He's not a werewolf.
