Making a HoMM3 Campaign
Hi all, I've started making a HoMM3 campaign, and I have a few questions...
First, should I bother making a HoMM3 campaign? Would anyone try it?
Next, what should I make it with? WoG? SoD? Something else?
Any help would be appreciated?

well, if it will be good (challenging, complex and well written at the same time) then there will be people interested in playing that- I personally prefer single player maps but there are many persons who enjoyed adventures like this
I have no experience in making maps myself- but which game you want to choose depends what You want to achieve. Games for SoD, if I am not mistaken, can be playeed also in WoG and other mods. If made for mod- t will be limited to mod. Not sure which cause I try to avoid mods.
As far as I know. WoG has more tools and options but at the same time it is much easier to f*** everything up. SoD is decent choice if You are just starting, but the options, challenge and mechanics that t offers can be not satysfying

To start with, before you make a campaign, make sure you have a compelling story underlying it. If you feel like having a lot of challenges in the corner of your head, but not much story, a single map is definitely better. And I'm pretty sure if the story is nice and maps are at least fine, then there will be people who will give it a try.
What you should make it with is more or less a choice of your preferences. But a rule of thumb is: if you are not familiar with ERM then don't go into WoG. First reason is, in WoG there are many things that are specific to a given map, and I don't think wog campaign editor carries them over(all comander stats, creature experiance, henchman, etc.). Second reason is, people tend to expect some nicely scripted stuff in WoG maps.
SoD is a solid starting point I think.
Now, if you have the main story, you need to divide it into parts, add subplots, quests, and so on. You also need to make a map for each part of the story. Of course, each map should be a bit different, interesting and a bit challenging.
One thing you should not do is use randomly generated maps in your campaign, they are in general boring, not so nicely looking, and not very difficult.
I can help you with some parts, provided you have the main story and the map designs. Feel free to pm me about it

Threads about "what ya guys think I should do" end in nothing, always. I can't even find a single example proving I am wrong.
