Okay, I did not expect that it will get such a lot of reactions...
Also, for those who are wondering why such a weird choise of companies- 3 for Might and Magic and 3 for Heroes.

well that would've been useful to know sooner. bioware and CD red are totally viable now. Rockstar is still completely not viable for anything deeper than a ditch though. points still remain about the TBS games though but for M&M i could see bioware be a good fit if they tone down some parts. CD Red feels a bit in the wrong sort of style of RPG's while FROM is certainly interesting but so far their stuff is easily way to grim. Almost human perhaps? Legend of Gimrock is kind of what i'd see M&M to be somewhat like and that game was awesome.

Come on Sal, no need to be marketing specialist to understand that offer creates demand. But when Ubi helmed the rights, they didn’t need to create demand, there were roughly all the people from Heroes I, II & III, and even from IV, eagerly waiting for the next Heroes installment. Basically, Heroes V was bound to sell well, Ubisoft really didn’t have much to do, and I will defend once again the mechanics from Nival which made it such a great game, still being modded nowadays (though not as much as III).
Yet we all know what went wrong with V. We all know why VI is the worst title of the series.
For pure facts, both VI and Restoration HD sold well.

about the OP question - well i dont believe that there is a lot of companies that are willing to pay money to acquire M&M brand and then develop games they have no idea about (TBS, TBRPG). I agree with alcibiades that the Civ owner (Take2 - owner and distributor | 2K games - publisher | Firaxis - developer) is the best possible and probable option.
Anyhow, this is pretty fruitless discussion tbh. I'm also not 100% sold on Limbic since H7 is their biggest project by far afaik and MMXL got rather bad reviews. I think i'd prefer Virtuous (their patch 2.1 for H6 was much better than Limbic's 1.8) but i wish Limbic all the best.

Well, surely not Blizzard. Their games are just fine but I would not want Heroes to get any more Manga-ish/Steampunk-ish. I've already had enough of that.
No comment on Ubidon't...
I voted CD p r, cause I am a very big fan of The Witcher and I thing they could come up with a really interesting project (generally and particularly storywise...)

I think limbic would do a good job, with the right budget. No matter who would do it there would always be room for improvement.

Yey I think what M&M really needs is a stable studio. Not being passed around anymore. From what I seen I think Limbic will do good, or so I hope.
Truth be told, I think Limbic wold do better without Ubi, then Ubi whitout limbic.
