Favorite map to play in HoMM III?

I played the Peaceful Ending map for like 4 times in the last 2 months, so it's safe to say it's my favorite.

First of all, it has the dwellings of all the 'exotic' dragons, except Rust, but Rust sucks anyway. Nothing like beating an entire army with only 1 of those guys.

Second, because of the artifacts. Many of them are non-random, so I know exactly what to do to get to each and every one of them.

Third, it includes Armageddon's Blade.

Fourth, it includes both, Gelu and Dracon, and an entire village of their respective special units, giving you a chance to play with them in the SP.

To be fair though, you must make choices and can't have all of these at once in the same game.

Know any similar maps?

What are your favorites?

Hello,

My all time favourites are the Reclamation, and A Viking We Shall go maps, the first one is North America, the secound is Europe.

I remember i played x times on Monks Retreat, Tale of two Lands, Warlords, The Battle of Daeyans Ford.. good maps were they are, i liked them.
They are all free for all maps. I don't like the planned and much controlled maps (like "you have 2 mounths to capture the city" etc.)

Now im testing a map of game of thrones, which i've created about one  month ago, i will share it to the public if its ready..

It's been a while but I used to enjoy Realm of Chaos the most, with or without allies. Viking We Shall Go is another fun one.

I've always liked 'Free For All'. It was a decent sized map with most every race present. Nice, clean, kill or be killed game play.

Warmongers is one of my all-time favorites.  Your "neighbors" largely leave you alone for the first month or so, giving you more time to explore the map.

I think it might be Illusion World 2 for me. It's such a big map where you can just do your thing. It takes a long time for the first enemies to show up.
It needs some editing though, because the enemies are tempted to do nothing, so you should place some seers near their castles before playing.
Would be the perfect map if it was a bit more difficult.

Favorite map? Definitely "Arrogance" from SoD. It's good for a quick battle versus PC or versus a human player. It has got a fine environment and it's balance is fine (although it could be better).

I have a nostalgic feeling about this map; it was my first map when I turned on Shadow of Death for the first time years ago. I battled my computer many times on it, as well as some friends of mine.

It won't belong to this board, but I need to write it: I tested a lot of WoG features on this map (mostly wogifications) and I still have good memories about it, even if some of ERM scripts were unsuccessfull or their quality was bad.

Jebus Cross. So far the only map I feel comfortable playing on Expert.

(I know I know, any one of you would flatten me on it, and playing vs AI is more pointless than masturbation, but I have no opponents near my level, so...)

My favorite maps are the custom-created maps by Tim Duncan.

I also enjoyed the map "Good to Go" (S, basic RoE) that was awesome for short clashes against friends in Hot-seat-mode!

As nooby as this answer might be, All for One is my fave. It was the default map for Restoration of Erathia, it isn't very big, I like the layout and I've played it quite a lot

Mine too! Playing the game when I was younger, I only had RoE so there was less maps to choose from. It was at the top of the list, and it was easy, so, it's the one I always played. If I remember correctly, it was the only one I played.
Including all the expansions, though, I don't know. I like all of them. Especially the easy ones

I actually share the same favourite... As much as I enjoy playing the huge XL or wog XXL maps, what I like the most about maps is simplicity. By the way, I like story-maps more than "strategic nightmare" maps.

All For One, Myth and Legend, Rumble in the Bogs, Islands and Caves, Brave New World, Divided Loyalties and Reclamation were favorites of mine.

There were many that were quite fun for me too. Like Buried Treasure, A Viking We Shall Go, Rediscovery, Monk's Retreat, Island King, Realm of Chaos. And how can I forget Good to Go and Elbow Room?

I've decided not to include user-created maps in this post, I've played a great deal that I loved, but too many to list and describe in one post.

I love playing "A Viking We Shall Go" (the map of Europe).

Haha, same happened to me. Played that map a million times (but finished only once, when I was older).
