Hiding the % of votes to any of the 4 factions being voted on is quite stressful.
It would seem that a close call for any of them is, now, imminent.
Having a mere 2 to 5% difference in the #2 faction voted on is a strong possibility.
What if, a 25%, 25%, 25% and, 25% truly happens, then what will happen? In this global world of today, that has, somewhat, became possible. Having to go with the ones that have trailer videos for them or, for the ones that have not been officially announced, just yet?
Hah! The suspense that brings all kinds of surprises!
As long as long time players of the series do not drop dead out of total anguish and despair, I guess its ok to do what Limbic is doing to us.

I don't think it will be close call. Dungeon and Necropolis have huge advantage because they have creatures that are not yet revealed. I guess at least 75% of the votes will be split among those 2 factions with more votes for dungeon.

I would have thought Sylvan had a good chance given that this faction was not in Heroes 6.

Necro lost? I was positive they would be in. I just don't trust Ubi with these votes. We get nothing but stuff on Sylvan since they announce the thing and they magically beat necro? Just like how Fury magically went up like 15% and beat Balance...
That emerald dragon aint gonna get any better.

Seriously, anyone is surprised that two factions chosen by fans won vote?
Dungeon/Black Dragon was always fan favourite faction/creature and I think most of us suspected that it will win voting.
Sylvan on the other hand wasn't present in Heroes 6 while both Necropolis and Stronghold were. Sylvan is something "new" (Heroes 5 has nearly 10 years by now), while these two factions only have few new units in line-up.

Yeah, I know what you mean - that H7 Necro recycles a fair bit from H6 Necro... except that ignores the lich and vampire revamps. So... yeah, daft.

Even if the units feel the same, i hardly would call it the same faction. Let's not forget that Necro in Heroes VI was heavily Magic oriented faction and in Heroes VII it feels more Might oriented.
But even if the above is bogus, there are far fewer abilities and the stats of units, weekly growth and necromancy are different, so the overall feel should not be entirely the same.
In a future expansion, maybe there will be one more core and one more elite in the lineups, thus allowing players to bypass Spider and Lamasu and thus creating a more coherent Necropolis of old, but that is another story.

True but that's the least they could do in a lineup whose only difference from its predecessor is spider instead of ghoul and a different champion(one being a black dragon remodel and the other a Belketh remodel anyway). That's goddamn lazy design even if the resources were tight.

Factually incorrect:
Skeleton - different model entirely with melee focus instead of ranged. Not recycled save for the icon (inexplicably).
Ghost - recycled... but it's a good design. Non-issue.
Spider - new
Vampire - being revamped. No longer issue.
Lich - being revamped. No longer issue.
Lamasu - recycled... but how much would one change it, really?
Grim Reaper - new... and seriously? "Hooded figure" = "Belketh remodel"? That's a huge stretch.
Bone Dragon - only semi-recycled from H6's Spectral Dragon... a DLC boss, not a regular unit and NOT a Black Dragon remodel! The only thing they have in common is the head shape... and being the BONES of said dragons, I should pretty damn HOPE they would!
So that's, what, only two fully recycled units? As "lazy" as the original lineup might have been, they've changed it. GET OVER IT!

Bone dragon is very much a black dragon animation rig skeleton (Or whatever it's called(which is fitting but lazy nonetheless)). point is, I and several others are sick of the H6 black dragon in every shape and form. Models might be new, but i swear, the green dragon also uses that god damn skeleton.

The Grim Reaper has other issues anyway. I do agree with Elvin that he's a Belketh remodel, but that wouldn't be bad depending if it would look cool. For me the real problem is that the Reaper is actually a Wraith - Death Knight - Vampire mashup. I can't fully appreciate it because of that.
Anyway, vote's over and the elves won (again). Kinda annoying we got both elfish factions and a real pity Necro didn't make it. Eh, c'est la vie.

Oh well. think on the bright side of things. Yup, Sylvan has 3 elven units and a doe... But has a whole new Racial we can try and also, the lineup is made entirely from scratch and it also wasn't in heroes VI, so it's interesting to give them a try.
As for Dungeon, it only has 2 elven units, 3 never seen before units (i mean made from scratch for heroes VII hopefully) and also, we have no idea how the racial works, how the models look, how the townscreen looks etc.
All in all, i don't find it a bad choice that these two factions won. Casting preferences aside, these are in my opinion the factions that might have the more bugs and work that needs to be pointed out. Stronghold was made good for you guys to play with and also to be shown to the press, so i doubt they took any chances of providing something really bad (but not that good either, i guess it was round normal). Necropolis was in almost all incarnations of the game so there is much info to mill and use and i hope that they will use it to balance the faction out. Sylvan i am worried about because since heroes V it hasn't been made or tested. Dungeon was made in Heroes VI but still it lacked character and identity, so i hope it get it in this incarnation.

+1 and it doesn't help that they put the dragon head on a Kirin's body. Why does the slow moving, "patient" earth dragon need to look like a snake dragon
