Very well then, you are allowed to have an opinion. What do you think is the worst skill then?
I agree mysticism specialists can be decent, but intelligence specialists are much much better.

You need to try "A Wizard's Tale", maybe one of the funniest maps ever made for Homm III.

You start with an Eagle Eye specialist and there are no mage guilds on the map, you have to learn all spells from your enemies.
Here
Tip: Berserk is needed for the naga garrison.

Try the user campaign Eternal Love, Eagle Eye is the most needed for the first map. But for me it was also frustrating.

Question...without having played the map, I assume your enemies either can build mage guilds, or enter the game with various numbers of spells?
Otherwise, how is it useful to learn a small handful of innate starting spells that heroes enter the game with?

No mage guilds but they start with custom spells.

Just goes to show that a map can be designed to make a skill that is more-or-less useless under normal conditions, useful.
Still doesn't make it so for the other 99% of the time

Learning is the worst, this skill makes like 6 heroes from "ok" to "plain horrible", Loynis&Co greets^^
Eagle eye can at least be usefull in super rare cases, but learning is just a wasted slot

Exactly and sadly more than 6 heroes start with useless Learning.

Yes and perphaps some skills needed to be merged, like they did it in WoG.

Hmm don't know about that, I'd rather just improve the worst skills like Learning, First Aid, Eagle Eye, Mysticism and maybe Sorcery a little.

the 5 secondary skills (witch, if you ask me don't have to exists) are:
1.Diplomacy - is just too op .....
2.Eagle Eye - I think that the developers of heroes 3 really wanted this skill to works - you have all those "EE" heroes, items ... but over all Eagle Eye is so situational ( it is just a worst version of scholar, witch is one of the worst skills anyways.... )that I think that this skill is just good for some custom campaign ....
3.Mysticism - maybe after having it expert and have some additional items for mana regen, you will manage to regenerate some 10MP a day... I think that mysticism is actually worst than EE, because of the few MR points that the skill gives (EE is at least fun ....)
4.Scholar - it has any application, but still is just too worthless for a secondary skill...
5.Learning - the skill is just too weak - just like mysticism .....
So do you know a mod of the game, when you disable those skills - please let me know- it will be very fun to play a game of heroes without them!

Yeah, I would also like to battle with my level 10 Aragorn from Battle for Middle-Earth but they don't belong to the same game.
You like it or not, when HotA team decided for close code they knew they were letting the other mods and modders behind.

I don't think is about closed code, but more of about safe code. If they coded it for Wog, they would have faced billions of bug reports, from wanabee coders to advanced mods, then everyone adding a new frankestein creature to that version would naturally claim "this is Hota" while his attempt spoils the original matching graphics concept.
+ the wog/era executable is facing changes, with every era version out, so is impossible to keep it compatible with mods depending on it.

Yes it would probably cause a lot of bugs and I also understand HotA crew wan't to keep it close to their vision. A little more freedom with customizing would'nt hurt and be good for all of us that aren't programmers or tech wizards though. Could'nt ERM work with HotA though? Like for example having 9th and 10th skill?
