Cop drags student to arrest her, ends up losing his job

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqPKqYtSu1s

Did you guys see this? I'm surprised he lost his job over this, when nothing happened to the cop that shot a 12 year old kid with a toy gun. I'm not a fan of cops but to be honest, she was being stupid and he arrested her without any punches or kicks. Nobody's pulling out a doctor evaluation of her injuries. I hear she was also expelled from school.

What do you guys think happened? I think the cop himself didn't want to continue his job now that he has been tagged by the media and his boss fired him so he could get as much jobless insurance as possible rather than leaving the force by himself.

Why do we say "the force" like they're a bunch of jedi ? lol.

Well kids are stupid, we all were, no? Some still continue being stupid later, like this cop who performs judo Taicop technique on a 13 yo girl; that could have hurt seriously. + she is black, he is white, some people are stunning idiots.

As far as I recall this was not the first time he was report to overstep the brutality line BUT the other guy shouldn't had simply lost his job. He should at least be held in a mental institution along with his partner driving the car, while his superior should questioned for nor forseeing it. I remember the video, they fast drove the car to a few meters from a kid and shot at close range without asking questions or even try to get a better understanding of the (unthreatening) situation.

from what i read, she was on a cell phone during class, and refused to turn it off or leave when asked to by the teacher. the kid kept blabbing on her phone. the teacher got an aide, who also asked her to turn it off or leave the classroom. the kid refused, and kept blabbing on her phone. the aide got the security officer or the principal(i forget if it's either or, or both), and she refused, and kept blabbing on her cell phone.

then a cop showed up, and explained if she did not comply, she would be forcibly removed from the classroom. she didn't comply, and instead flicked him off. then she tried to punch the cop(supposedly) when he put his hands on her.

if what i read(the above) is true, i say mace the brat, kick her teeth in, and expel her from school. then beat her parents into the ground for raising such a snowing brat.

people seeing color(especially in a situation like this) disgust me. color makes no difference. circumstances are about action; not color.

if the cop has a history of getting out of line, then i can see why. cops deal with some pretty snowty people. that's why i'd never be a cop, because i would be beating the living snow out of a LOT of people.

Not leaving a classroom after being told to should not lead to an arrest, unless the person in question doesn't belong at the school at all, otherwise a cop should never be called. If the child in question refuses to leave when asked to then it is ultimately those who're responsible for the child who should be called and told to take her home. Then possibly temporary expel until whatever issue lies beneath has been sorted may follow..

well, that solves that problem. so since her parents are gone, then that means she can just be an annoying brat? nope. no sympathy coming from me. i'm tired of people using excuses for snowty behavior. it's snowty behavior, plain and simple. you either deal with the world, or remove yourself from it. what you DON'T do is add to the problems that already exist.

Yeah...that's not how the world works freddy boy, she's a kid, not a mature adult (though it they're not mutually inclusive, to be a kid and be mature, or be an adult and be immature does happen), they tend to have have very little grasp on their feelings. That skewed attitude toward the vulnerable is probably the reason why the world is screwed up in the first place

She's not some mastermind kicking off cause she knows she'll get away with it with a killer excuse, she's doing it because she just went through a traumatic event. Lol, here in England a bunch of adult students had to go through therapy (and they needed it) because one of their housmates passed away in the night due to brain haemorrhage. It's inhuman not to be affected significantly by the loss of one's entire family at that age, to expect her to buckle up and get on with it is equally so. Expecting every human to be as you are is foolish, we are far from the same, and you can't expect to be making the calls when you have no empathy. She needs help, at least someone to bloody talk to, seems like nobody gave a damn at all, I mean how could the school not be aware of her drastic change of circumstances?

Cop was an ass and deserves to be fired. He does not have the right to do what he did neither should he. One can't arrest someone for not being good in class. There are better ways to deal with it. Getting a cop (who's also unstable and unfit for the job) is simply out of the question for dealing with unruly students.

Can't pronounce myself if she deserved or not that use of force against her. That's all this comes down to. Believe me, I've seen how disrespectful and annoying kids could be, and this bullsnow about not being able to even touch them is only fueling their confidence that they can get away with anything. Personally, I think physical punishment used as correction tool and not out of vengeful impulses is not only fine but necessary. This is not in the defense of the cop, at a glance I tend to think he went too far with the way he acted.

I do think that was excessive use of force. However as far as I'm concerned she had it coming to her. Youth especially these days lacks the respect to authorities. If a police gives you command that's within reason you do it or you are prepared for the consequences which may very well include the use of physical force.

Chastisement is built into our cultures though, I mean any balkan kid that didn't get whacked across the head when he acted like a muppet had a poor upbringing. Here in the west it's totally different though you gotta remember, and rightfully so, adults are bigger fools than the kids that they would be chastising, they have zero understanding when to use force or the degree of force to use. Here kids get beaten by drunken or drug addict parents and its stark in nature.

Urgh so hard to explain what it's like, saying I got beaten as a kid sends this shock of terror on everyone here, I was like...yeah we were wild and free we used to pummel to crap out of one another, make good friends and get walloped when we went too far, I remember those days fondly. Can never see it implemented here and it shouldn't as I said, adults simply either don't need to or too untrustworthy to allow them to.

Sure is different from balkans. My teachers used to slap me a lot (true I was on adrenaline constantly) and my parents congratulated them. But here in France, if you TOUCH one student, you lose your job the same day. Not even slap or punch, just TOUCH. If you slap or punch, then is directly prison.

Now USA is another planet.

if she was unable to function, she should have stayed home. i can see crying, deep depression, or other similar reactions. but talking on a cell phone and rudely ignoring/basically telling people who enforce stability to snow off?

that's not a sign of a child in grief. that's a sign of a child needing an asswhipping.

i think it's funny how people everywhere automatically assume that she had a good upbringing, and that she loved and/or even miss her parents. they automatically assume that her home life was something out of "little house on the prairie".

edit: and as far as defending the cop, zeki: you should understand that i don't like cops any more than i like bratty kids. but i'm a big fan of giving people what they deserve. i could care less about that particular cop's history with people. the way it looks, they only call him in to do what others won't do, but needs to happen anyway. he's the dark side of "robocop".

You know, trauma doesn't just manifest in depression, right? No matter how it manifests it needs to be respected and met with sympati, even if the person has turned dismissive.Jealing takes many forms for different individuals. You can't force your own ways of coping since that method does not work on everyone.

i understand that depression manifests in different ways, i'm not uneducated in the matter. the way i see it, she was just being delinquent. have you ever known any children in foster homes/orphanages? from what i understand, "acting out" is a general behavior with these kids. are you saying that they shouldn't HAVE to assimilate into society with everyone else, simply because their home life could be different from others? because i'm not going to agree with that. i know how bad these kids can get in those settings(charles manson was a posterboy for that), but being lenient with them only teaches those kids that they SHOULD have special treatment(just like when kids with parents are allowed to do whatever they want). which means, that they'll EXPECT that kind of treatment, and throw all kinds of snow-fits when they DON'T. which it looks to me, is what happened in this case.

society drops the ball everywhere with kids these days; it doesn't matter what living situation they have. politeness and order should be enforced ACROSS THE BOARD. these kids are the future of society. if people keep telling them that they're special and that they deserve special treatment, then just what will society be in the future?

like i said, you can't coddle this kind of behavior. it's not something that should be ALLOWED, period. she could have stayed at the orphanage and slept in bed, if she was grieving. she didn't HAVE to go to school and disrupt class with her goddamn cell phone.
