This has nothing to do with Paris and everything to do with the extreme rivalry between Turkey and Greece.

Hadji is correct. This isn't even about football, just a historical thing between the two.

I don't know about that but what I do know for sure is around ten years ago France was one of the most respected countries by the Arab world. Then arrived Sarkozy, who put France back in NATO. Shortly after France with USA destroys Libya, then France alone keep going making wars in Africa. Finally and with Hollande France with USA provides weaponry to terrorists in Syria, then attacks Syria. This is extremely bad move as Syria was a french colony.
So now here we are, after seven years under USA commands France is actually being loathed by arabs... And accessory quarreled herself with russians.
So just maybe, what happened here during this minute of silence isn't totally unrelated.

I never said that it was about football. I also know about Greece and Turkey. What I'm talking about is some basic compassion. Innocent people were killed, and if there is a minute of silence for them, how hard is to be silent for a whole minute?
EDIT: Just to be clear. I'm not talking about them as Turks or football fans or whatever, I'm talking about them as humans.

Well Turkey itself was shocked by a terrorist attack not long ago in its capitol Ankara. No minute of silence elsewhere in the world.. and one could wonder how willing those who sympathize with France would be to participate in such a silence for the Turkish victims.

That is entirely different problem. There are many victims, from many countries, that did not receive minute of silence. I sympathize with French people, as I sympathized for the innocent people who lost their lives in Turkey, or any other country. My point is: this shouldn't be in any way connected to politics.

Those minutes of silence are the cherry on the top of the propaganda cake. I was also asked for such minute at work, I declined. Of course I am sad about the innocent people who died, especially as they died listening to music, which is usually known as a tolerance and peace vector, but the almost forced "minute of silence" today is simply an empty stereotype to cover the lack of ideas on what to do, in order to avoid further massacres.

It honestly sickens me when the death of people is turned into some empathy competition show, heavily encouraged by the media. And not just people in general but people from certain countries. Death PR, nothing less.

Yeah, that too. We should be sorry for people who are getting bombed as we speak, or who die because of other calamities too.

Needless to say, extreme majority of people don't approve of the attack here but I don't think they are losing too much sleep over it either. And when 10 starts boo, another twenty join in, such things spread quite fast in a stadium since a lot of people are there to blow off steam and shout out in the first place. There's also what Hadji mentioned, some are angry about how we had a very similar attack quite recently and the global reaction was almost nothing compared to Paris.
It had nothing to with the Greece/Turkey thing, btw, which is very exaggerated. Usually, we get along just fine.

So it's very much exaggerated like the "conflict" between modern Romania and Hungary. Sorry for off topic.
