It was a lie, because it's a dog. All the animals in this house end up suffering from neglect, and this increases in frequency the longer the animal is alive. It's not a conscious thing on my mom's part; it's how things play out because she always creates more work for herself that she can't help but neglect most things people would take care of if her priorities were straight.
Regardless, every animal in this house dies a horrid death, and this one will be no exception. What sucks is, the previous owner of this dog abused him, so he never warmed up to me, and stayed away from me for the most part. But recently he actually layed down in my room and i shooed him out(politely), because i don't want fleas in my room. I didn't consider the possible significance of that, until i saw how bad he was doing today. It's almost like he wanted to have some kind of relationship with me while he still had the chance; and i didn't see that until today.
It just sucks. The whole living situation here sucks, but i can't afford anywhere else atm. I feel like a rat on a sinking ship, and i'm the only one that seems to care about the state of the ship and those still on it.
