What have you tried, what haven't you tried yet that you consider trying and do you know why the options you tried didn't work out?

One twelth century Norman/Sicilian (technically Muslim) chronicler hit the nail on the head and it still holds true:
Quote: As for Britain, it is set in the Sea of Darkness. It is a considerable island, whose shape is that of the head of an ostrich, and where there are flourishing towns, high mountains, great rivers and plains. This country is most fertile; its inhabitants are brave, active and enterprising, but all is in the grip of perpetual winter.

The person that wrote that is obviously a Middle Easterner, because like hell is Britain a "perpetual winter". Western Europe is extremely coastal so the winters are reasonably mild. Go to Russia or central North America and you'll discover what a winter is. Knock your ballsack around too hard in Montana and your balls will shatter against each other.
I don't really mind the Albion climate much, but I actually enjoy a good amount of rainy and overcast days. Nice and mellow atmosphere. I find myself sometimes missing them here in New Mexico. I'm in the minority though. Most would prefer to die of skin cancer in the swamps of Miami.
FYI, Florida is the retirement capital of the continental US (along with New Zealand), so be prepared to be around plenty of geriatrics that can't remember where they parked their car.

Fine by me, I prefer old people to young anyways, they are less noisy as neighbors. No sex, no parties, no babies screaming at night = awesome.

I've already contacted Doom but thought I should post this result.
After much of my time was wasted in searching, contacting and then researching...Me Myself and I failed at trying to help Doom get here. I am leaving out the details but it seems Companies or rich people are the chief immigration Sponsors today and the peasants of the mob have no easy way of getting someone here...from Europe.
Funny how our borders are nothing but Swiss-cheese where drug-dealers and criminals can saunter across into this once great nation without anything but wanting free everything and yet I, as an American citizen can't do squat for someone with an education seeking a career.
A bit strange how we can be bombing a nation and yet make those folks *priority* in getting to our shores. Imagine any nation during WWII making the Axis powers the bodily-source of its future.
As I told Doom...I think it better for him that he is not here now. If it were me, I'd much rather try Switzerland or Australia first.

markkur - , actually US is a state made by an immigrants..
Do you even ask yourself why US and SU is so powerful? - Perhaps one of the main reasons, is the fact that government actually do not care about your 'ethnic background' - if you are capable and useful - Welcome! This is a truly powerful strategy.
Your Axis countries during WW2 was a bunch of joke, that is used 'the high point of a progress wave' for a very short time... IMHO.
The smuggling, illegal goods, etc - is a common problems of the any modern states, especially with a with a huge borders like the Uncle Same is.
Or I am wrong?
Anyway, interesting thread for myself, I thought for myself to go in US, when I was a little child (I saw some hollywood blockbusters ), but , of course this is almost impossible, and for now I even do not want this anymore.

Lol, markkur is from the US. Also, the Soviet Union no longer exists. Do you think you are making good conversation by constantly posting nonsense?

Doomforge I hope your addiction problem with computer games has improved. I finally read that post and it hit me right here *points to thyroid*.
I had some addiction with games growing up (not as extreme as you but still definitely deleterious to my life) and as I got older it gradually disappeared by itself as games simply got less interesting to me. By the time I was 25 a lot of games seemed immature and repetitive and I just stopped playing them, although I have no doubt I could still get wrapped up in a city builder or something and go for hours upon hours.

Well maybe not so much while bullets were still being exchanged, but didn't they? More than a few Germans and Italians migrated after the war. German civilians or ethnic Germans were expelled from countries in mass numbers post 45' with a lot of deaths and and people hardly cared since the war was still a fresh memory, but I think Italians had better luck.

And this fact, of course drastically changing the situation with such things like a common 'border' problems for a large surface, powerful states...

I am sorry, I have forgot it.

Usually if someone typing the word 'nonsense' related to some things, this someone have a good arguments about.
So, perhaps you can type, why my posts is a nonsense?

You sure you wanna come here? I'd leave if I only knew of somewhere better.
Look here if you haven't' yet. Maybe you can do an EB-1 or EB-2.
You really should talk to an immigration lawyer if you're serious. I tried to immigrate to Canada and got myself banned instead. There's a lot of rules, and the unwritten ones are the most important. Know your snow and take it seriously.

Heh me too, tried twice Canada also in my twenties, got refused as my job wasn't required.
Didn't change me into a whining snow though, they have perfectly the right to refuse who comes and who doesn't. However the rule which impressed me was that they required you to prove you have enough personal funds to survive 2 years without any welfare, and that was around 50k $. A nice pack of money, that is.
If only Europe would have asked same in the past, we would be sending shuttles to Mars right now, exploring galaxy and stuff, instead of wasting all taxes and positive energy on third world feckless immigration then dealing all the civil unrest caused by.

Yes. Sending shuttles to Mars by now, just like the Canadian juggernaut is. I believe the last starship to depart for Martian Base Prime was the Comatose Moose.
Except their citizens are too busy moving to the US at a disproportionate ratio. Yep. They leave Canada to go to a country that has two Sith Lords running for president. Says a lot about what a winter hell hole it is.

Well, there is nothing wrong with immigrating to US, is a great place to live. You can say whatever you want, legally immigrating to US is also VERY difficult, it was my first target before Canada.
Wait until it becomes as cheesy as europeans borders and you will see the problems coming from.
