Poll Question: What difficulty do you enjoy most?
I am not talking here about the AI which is weak anyway but the starting ressources, creatures and creatures growth.
Also I would like to know if you play with saving or without, starting again battle or not.

The idea is to say what difficulty you like and why.
For exemple as I mostly play sp I like heroics because I have a little bit of challenge at the beginning and there is a clear turn from the heroe that struggles to fight monsters to the one where you win every fight without losses.
The downside is that I always go back to playing strong creeping factions (necros, wizards or orcs) and always miss out some of the units (those whose building are to expensive).
I liked also a lot playing in difficult or with starting ressources similar to difficult as it made all factions possible to play while still offering some challenge. I would probably play this if I were with friends and not allowed to load

acctually i never found difficulty levels offering extra fun. A.I should change behavior and be smarter with extra difficulty, instead of making us start lower resources and increasing stack sizes of neutrals armies. i never get to see it in any heroes games, which is a shame..
curreently i play it on hard as a poor excuse to dumb A.I.. this way at least i can feel like playing a more healty early game.

Actually I have not noticed many differences among the difficulties in H7... AI is usually very stupid, no matter which difficulty you choose.
But I play usually heroic to have a good feeling and some challenge at least...

In all heroes games I have preferred the hard difficulty. In H7 it seems kinda pointless as the AI won't get any more competent and there doesn't seem to be a difficulty that corresponds to the classic hard. I want a challenging AI(lol..), resources a little tight but not to the point of hampering growth and strong neutrals but not to the point that only specific exploits can give you a fast paced creeping.

Oh, I already voted Hard even tough I haven't even played Heroes VII yet. In older heroes games it reads in difficulty settings that in Hard, Cpu plays best of it's abilities and easier difficulties is handicapped, don't make best choices and don't build as fast it could. Frankly I feel that's "cheating" if playing lower than Hard. Don't get confused by the name "Hard" it's just even game for everyone.
Don't know is this the same in heroes 7 so sorry if being little off topic.
Edit: Elvin beat me here, hehe.

Actually H6 (shame on me I did play it a bit) and H7 chose a different path by making two distincts difficulty settings :
You can choose the AI difficulty and the creeping difficulty.
The AI difficulty will impact on the AI aggressiveness and the amount of creatures it will have.
The creeping difficulty (the one I talked about) is a composition of how much starting resources you get and how big the neutral stacks start and grow.
In H5 the creeping part was always pretty easy and you would be challenged by facing the ennemy AIs. To do this ennemy AIs would "fight" neutrals each time they were favored and fighting meant gaining the corresponding XP without loosing any creature.
To that you can add that they did do a few spells so they looked okeish even if not great.
In H7 it is the opposite : you can make the creeping part a lot harder but ennemy IA remains bad. Not as bad as in H4 (where it never left its starting zone in higher difficulty) but bad nonetheless (they suffer losses when fighting neutrals so they avoid freeing the mines until very late).

By "the difficulties" I suppose you mean the AI level else going from 30k gold to 10 (I think) is quite sensible to me
I believe AI is more aggressive in higher difficulty for they suicide themselves against my main as soon as they can. They probably also have some more units but the lack of experience and overall random (so bad) composition with random spells don't make them much of a challenge for sure.
As for heroic did you succeed with haven and dark elves on map whith strong frontiers (like "dongeon minions")? The defensive style of haven did not feel great last time I tried it with that setting.
I am confident I can play and creep well with orcs or wizards even without saving or that necros will be invicible assuming I am patient enough at the beginning not to take a wrong fight. Others I am not so sure :s Haven for exemple took me an eternity and even more before I freed the mines. So much in fact that one AI eventually took a third castle before me oO'.

Heroic to get some challenge out of the game(even if it's only a tiny bit). I did use customized for MMH6 though to get higher creature growth and what else there was. I already forgot how it was for MMH7, but probably it had customized setting too of some kinda as I recall.

The map is an adventure map called "dungeon minion".
As it is campaign maps have been balanced down so you don't find as much challenge there but adventure maps have very interresting beginning
I quote "dungeon minions" because it is my favorite :
_ An easy to take but far away second castle.
_ strong frontiers preventing ennemy AIs to commit suicide against you too early so the map is not over in the first month.
_ Several entry points which can make you attacked by several AIs at once when you start dominating, especially if you take the central area.
_ Lots of way to buff you heroes far apart from each other which really ask the question on how much do you want them.
In heroic the mines nearby aren't always obvious to take especially when you can't afford to build your elites by lack of said mines.
Edit : What I mean by "interresting" is that I still haven't found a way yet to achieve it with all factions. For exemple I have a run with Haven (on above map) and struggle each and every fight in a very painful way. Next run I take orcs and it feels awesome, slaughtering ennemies quite fast.
