I like it. I don't know how long it'll continue to be fun, but as a summer spur, it could be much worse. Plus, the number of boys and young men I see walking the streets instead of sitting at home in front of their computer is amazing, so that can't be a bad thing.

No offense Alci and I Agree in part...better than nothing but I would say it is maybe a 50/50 good...at best. Let's see Parents or a Parent, or themselves will not leave the screen and think of their Minds & Bodies? But they take a smaller screen and listen to...Pokémon? Sounds more like a sequel to Orwell's 1984.

Except for the idiots who drive and hit others or end up into parks while staring at their screen. Or the muggers who ambush people near pokemon hotspots. Sadly some people are too careless and/or stupid to afford more distractions from their immediate environment. Not the game's fault though.

Quote: A bit dangerous, extremely dangerous for some who are not paying attention to surroundings. Potential robberies and injuries. Perhaps worse because we all know someones gonna be driving while playing, etc.
True, but most of those things happen already but even so such misfortunes are in the very minority like less than 1% of players have run into a serious accident and could've been avoided with common sense. It's just a natural thing that happens when you get people out of their homes for what previously would be an unaccountable reason (it's like the whole world is out for a stroll). The gps thing to track you down was available pre pokemon go, what robbers can do is wait for you at pokestops which are naturally part of some gang or group places or hanging grounds, so you need to travel with a bit of common sense.
Quote: Overall I think it's borderline genius idea, but at least where I live the execution is just plain terrible(hopefully it works much better where you live). I really hope the company will bring some actual social interactions to the game also like trading pokemon/items and battling other trainers directly. Some real instruction inside the game would be nice too rather than leaving player to learn most things by themselves. I do think this game could turn into something great in time.
This game was never expected to blow up so big and so quickly, it's still flesh and bone, but if you follow them they're quickly on it, the server issues and whole new features like trading and dueling (they even have pictures now). You should follow their feeds.
30km walked so far in 4 days just for this game, really limited by battery use, we got high and drunk then went roaming and sight seeing, things you'd never think exist (monuments, we found the Victoria Arch hidden in a forest). You have to remember that some of my mates are just fat trolls that spam league and I have to drag them to a pub with lures of first rounds on me, but now they're crazy about this game. Spent a week in Leeds and most of it was sight-seeing and outside, while any other time we'd go out for an hour or so and that's to the pub, then we'd either go on a pub-crawl or split to a club.
But no game before has had me roaming 4am in Hyde park looking for a pokemon while evading the dangers of crack heads and pikeys.
Not even really thought about pokemons seriously in over a decade, and seeing all their familiar faces is nostalgia on a level I've not experienced before. But make no mistake, people now have a real reason to roam about, they do it cause they love to move and explore but before would have no tangible reason to.
