How to play CQ on a Windows PC
Basically, you need a virtual Android environment. I tried Bluestacks 3 and MEMU. As you can probably guess, MEMU worked.
Step 1, install MEMU
You'll get a working virtual tablet running Android 4.2 in short order, all you need is a Google account to link to the tablet. You CAN 'upgrade' to 5.1, but it's manual work for small/no benefit. In any case, 4.2 works with CQ
Step 2 install CQ
Easiest way is just to open the play store and search for CQ, then install from there
Step 3 Familiarise yourself with the controls
The documentation is vague, and although it's mostly intuitive, I'm still pissed I can't just look it up.
Keyboard mapping exists - you drag function markers to specific areas on the screen, and then each key press is interpreted as a 'touch' to perform that specific function (WASD for movement mapped to the area of the screen responsible for movement, aim/reload/fire in shooting games, etc)
ESC seems to be the back key, Left Mouse Click as single touch, long right click as long press, Click and Drag is pan left/right... Dunno how to do multiple simultaneous presses.
Optional step 4: You can configure the whole thing six ways to Sunday, from specific make/model to IMEI number, to geographic locations.... pretty sure you can use this to create dummy accounts using your ref code. Checked, this is definitely possible.
Also, apparently a bannable offence. Don't see how it can be traced back, but whatever
I got through the tutorial fine, no red flags.

Hello everyone, glad to see how much the community around this game has grown. Sorry for my lack of presence. I dug my old android out of my closet and went to update the game and got the joyous surprise of freezes, crashes, slow starts and many more wondrous inconveniences that come with a dying device. Been very busy for a while since then but got around to trying to get it repaired and confirming my fear that the Old Yeller treatment was pretty much my only option.
Long story short, still planning on getting back into the game when life permits. Just wanted to drop in say hello and congratulate you on keeping the group going strong.

Nice to hear from the Dwarf warrior! The game has already changed quite a bit since last time you played, but next update is biggest one with long awaited Kingdoms and DC 2.0.

Didn't impress through the tutorial. I might create dummy accounts to get some loot, but...
As far as I see, it's about triggering your creatures in an order that's both efficient and lethal. Damage is static, excluding predictable modifiers. And of course, the rarer your creatures, the harder they hit, and their specials also get sweeter. Kinda like Pokemon Go.

Roh. Never played Pokemon Go so I cannot compare. Personally what I love the most is the whole multipliers system, and PvE battles are really interesting especially when starting to play (after a while you use QBCs).

Question: is there a limit to the size of creature storage and if so is there a reason to try and reach it?

Max creatures storage is 500, the reason to reach it is so you can keep more and more dupes and already have them ready to directly fully awaken when you get a 3 or 4 dots of specific creature. Basically it's just a little help with the grinding.

Shelving the game is looking more attractive by the day. I've got the marionette replaced with a partially awoken lvl 50 pyrat, and I'm periodically raiding tower lvl 6 for contenderoos, but even if I got one, I don't have the gems to level it, and gems are HARD to farm. What's worse, I only ever fail the last boss fight on Lord, and I tried everything! I can do 1.5-2 quests a day OR I can farm the first few Tower levels, but those won't give me gems in any substantial quantity  Dungeon challenge is a joke, out of 40 attacks I couldn't repel even one. I'm sad.

The early game is a bit harsh on the resources and evolving items so you have to be a bit patient (or pay). Once you can beat Prince difficulty it will become easier, after you pass King resources and items hardly are a problem any longer, I have hundreds of tomes and fragments in my inventory. Don't neglect gold either, the Wealthiest Tavern map available only on Wednesday and in the WE is a great gold loot, you will need it when you'll get bigger creatures to upgrade. If in a quest you fail the last battle and Boss is like at 1 HP left... Screw it and use a diamond revive, once you clear the quest 100% you will be able to Quick Battle Coin it and as you upgrade your party with the loot you will be able to beat it rather sooner than later. Dungeon challenge IS really hard and it takes (much) longer to create a strong defense than a strong offense. For now you need to play the maps, experiment with creatures, foresee how your party will evolve.
Oh and save diamonds for the upcoming community choice summon events, IIRC there will be a chance to get Phoenix.
