She can give you epic color essences and/or also color idols (it was 2 of them for me for 99 diamonds) but it's random and usually you will get only quick fight coins, rare color essences and/or some better grade resources.
I think when Galaad mentioned essence to upgrade his Hunchback, he meant black epic essence from Lady in the Lake.

You can get pixie dust  (or whatever it's called) from Wish quests too (IIRC difficulty Prince+).

Lady in the lake usually gives ~18 QB coins, 20-30 totems and rare essence / higher level kingdom material. Given that 5 QB coins cost 25 diamonds from the diamond store, you get OK value for your diamonds in that case. Sometimes she will give 1-2 epic essences or color idol (same color as the current grand wish quest), but never greater essences afaik. Getting epic essences in a color you need + totems and something else is good value imo.
If you already have good Legendaries for attack and defence, I would say spending diamonds on Lady in the lake is less of a gamle than spending them on multi summons. After all, you can buy from her 8 times for the price of one multi summon. But if you need creatures I would not waste my diamonds on the Lady.

Hey guys... anyone did the black wish on emperor difficulty yet?
This is the last emperor grand wish quest left for me and 2 legendary idols.

How come they have disabled the 24hr shield in the shop? Are they disabling shield for the last hour? That would be stupid. The purpose of the shield is so you don't have to worry about the last hour. It's the last hour when all the attacks happen

Today the Green Lady gave me a green Epic essence even though the Wish rotating was red. It's the first time I bother to check with the quest, but the colors always matched with the Lady for me insofar.

Lady in the Lake is out of synch with Grand Wish quests. As far as I observed, she is always 1 day ahead of Wish quests (so in Tuesday is red Grand Wish quest but Lady has already next day colour - green in this case).

OK so I just learned two things that directly goes against many posts in this forum.
First of all, I learned a 100% f2p player could reach Castle 20 within two weeks. Second, I could speak with a VIP1 who is currently at Castle 22, without too much excessive grinding considering the amount the game can let you play, as properly coordinated with good optimization. 10-15 runs a day during two weeks while focusing on Kingdom materials. For sure, to progress faster you also got to work for it, but what does this mean, this means, Kingdom is actually NOT behind a paywall, and WE are the ones playing too casually. 
Haven't tried it yet myself, but shield in its current state seems to remain a problem from all points of views though.

^ I didn't notice the colors being out of sync. Guess it's just another bug caused by the update.
From the FAQ (https://news.creaturequest.com/kingdoms):
Q: How can I determine what color loot the Lady of the Lake merchant will offer?
A: The Lady in the Lake offers loot that is the same color as the current Grand Wish Genie Quest. The Succubus makes a return on Sundays and serves as a wildcard color!

I just reached castle 20 last nite, could have reached it sooner but I concentrated on shrines and keeps the week before. I am a completely free to play player. Have never spent a single $ in the game. I did grind tavern a lot to get gold and I use my diamonds for rushing wood and ore instead of doing multi-summons.
What's wrong with shield? I was able to get top 75 this event without worrying about attacks this week. (I was aiming for 51-75 instead of 26-50 this week because I don't need a hunchback). Very stress-free. I like it.

It has been from a looong time, I don't know if not since introduction of Kingdoms. It's not last update fault.

I just did it this morning, had to use one revive for last battle though. The Legs I got won't help me but that's RNG.
