Multiposting abuse
I have conducted an experiment in the context of creating multiple threads by pressing the submit button multiple times in quick succession and I found the results a bit shocking. With something [edited out for safety] I was able to create over 20 pages of VW threads in an instant (post count went up by over 400 replies). How this is possible is beyond me, but it's clear that this can be abused with potentially harmful consequences for the forum. If there's any form of protection from this it should definitely be implemented asap.
And on this note I must also apologize for the aftermath of my actions, I'm sure Corribus will be more than displeased with it. If I could delete the threads myself I would definitely do it. In case I'm liable for punishment, I urge the mods to consider the purpose of my experiment which was only meant to provide a clearer view on the issue.

It explains what the problem is though, it's known that pressing more than once the submit button will make more posts at the same time.
Although I never saw this glitch applied to thread making, which is a good find, if a user without flood-protect accidentally presses the button more than once we're going to see the same thing, albeit on a much smaller scale for sure.
Don't blame him, the problem is with the submit button, how can he explain the glitch without saying he pressed it more than once?

cheers Stevie to find that nasty gaping loophole in the coding of the forum, give him a QP no need to penalize that,
mate just pass me a moderator sword and shield if you wish and I will quickly delete those threads for you, and certainly won't abuse the opportunity to delete H7 discussion thread and any other stinky Erwinite residue no sirree bob lol

Not to insult your intelligence Stevie but you need at least three stars to even attempt this due to flood-protection so this could only be done by the more 'respectable' members of HC, so it's not like a common troll could replicate this, and you should not have attempted this without approval.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you just created 20 extra pages worth of threads for Cor to delete, manually, one by one. If someone dropped such a large **** on my head I'd be friggin seathing, 20 by 20 so 400 friggin threads to delete. -.-'
I hope that ain't true and there's some automatic way of deleting a large amount of threads or else you're closer to getting the ban hammer than a QP mate  .

He just didn't give it much thought and tried the experience. Although the consequences are heavy it came from a good intention that could be retained for his defence.

You're really tempting me to test that. But it's not like irregular things like 4 or 5 posts in a row never happened. Ghost created threads with 0 replies just earlier, so I wouldn't exactly put it past this forum to allow other restrictions to be bypassed.
But at the end of the day, even if you're right and you really need 8 QPs to reproduce the issue, your argument doesn't invalidate the fact that the issue exists and can be abused at any moment by any of the "respectable members".

Only if you believe creating 400 threads in mere seconds is humanly possible. It isn't.

What exactly was the purpose of the experiment anyway? I mean this problem did not seem greatly apparent or relevant.

I give you the log. Every VW thread that ever existed was manually deleted by the mods. (except for those still there and those that were moved of course)

Perhaps the other mods will help with deleting the threads, if Bruker, Maurice, Kiryu and Omega helps they "only" have to delete 80 threads each.
I am not certain it would be possible for a user with less than 8 qp's (thereby no flood protect), but I've seen people sometimes being able to bypass flood protect.
