Macron1, thanks for teh defense. I admit, im really glad about all feedback, all ideas. Im doin the town, cause i like very much all the mod idea.
The Afanc is not a bad ideia, i searched about him and i thought could be, maybe an alternate creature. The images showed look so much a Hydra with one head. The Afanc description denotes something like a beaver-crocodile.
I like the Cockatrice idea. And Peryton. Both are famous mythological creatures, wich fits on heroes theme (elves, dragons, fairies)

You could use that name, if you are willing to make a nature Stone-like being. Although I would point out you could make a Spiritual one as well, shapeshifter.
The problem i see with Yum Kaax its from Maya Pantheon. Too much different than another creatures.
Thats my idea for the future model Lvl7
I like the look of this. Just make sure to make it look massive like Titans.

3D made everything worse. Go back to 2d rips and leave 3d untextured to H4

I understand your critics, but the problem with the ripped old version is the limitations about angles or improvements.
Im admit the 3d version is not better than real mountains or real buildings.. but i can make better with time. The creatures, since the beginning is not use wow models.

Well, if you want to use the town as an oppotunity to practice 3D modelling, rendering and texturing, I guess there is npothing I can do to stop you.
But take into account most H3 town graphics were handmade, not rendered (except Conflux)
In fact there were 3D models made first, but then they were painted with 2D art.
This is a 3D rendered version of Necropolis for example. Looks good to me but obviously it is not the final style:

I guess all h3 townscreens were rendered but for public purposes only few screens with models (Rampart) and old beta works were released.

@ nimo: dude, tf? Fiorin is new to 3d modeling, and he's doing a GREAT job considering how new he is to it. Hell, when i started out with my 2d work, i sucked. Fiorin is leagues ahead of where i was when i first started modding, and i was only doing 2d, whereas fiorin is doing 3d.

Once he gets the 3d to where he wants it to be i'm sure he'll figure out how to do the filters to change it up in no time.

Once he's done with the textures, all he should need to do is, run the townscreen work through a pixellation filter. That should accomplish the final homm3 texture, while still retaining his original work. I don't see that part as being complicated, especially not worth ditching his ongoing work to pick up where he left off with 2d; not in the least. He's progressing admirably as he is now, imo.

I have a critical sense about my job and im admit about a 'budget' 3d version. Im not happy about that version either. But i insist on 3d buildings because its more flexible to make town and map dwellings.
For now, im focused on a working version and interesting new creatures on lineup. Not a great model ? Not great animations? Not great graphics? I see. But i work daily on that and i like the town idea.

Im gonna think about that. Maybe then generate the buildings with 3d render to achieve the positions i want, then prepare the town screen on PS
