The townscreen background is already done. Im proud of that, but dont gonna show for now.

I have 2 buildings done: castle and capitol. The non-upgraded versions of each too. I just textured castle because adv map need.

Progress: 2/17 planned.

Please tell me about any fix. Im open to criticism, ever. Im gonna note, them fix soon as possible.

The new lock looks very nice and interesting, I just wonder if it is not too bent to the front of the screen, but maybe it's just such an impression and I have not got used to it yet.
The building itself, both on the map and on the city screen, is a good job.
As for the city's general suggestions, the last versions of the city have 2 errors that hinder the game:
- witch during the move, when he hovers over the cursor causes crasch.
- there is a mistake with the heroes from the machines, ie from the ballista (Gobni) and from the car (Mabon), I suspect that this 2 causes, and exactly, the point is that when AI has one of these heroes, and there is more than 1 AI is attacking another hero with them, causes the game to hang, because 1 has as a ballista unit (unit and machine separately), and 2 the same but with wagons and the only way to get around it, knock out the AI ​​of these heroes as soon as they are nearby, then enter any hero to fight and give wait / defend and the fight ends with a win.
Without including this city in the manager, every hero with a ballista from other cities works correctly, that's why I think something with Mabon affects it, but something can be wrong with Gobni.

Gonna try some more angles on map. The city screen its a uncertain thing yet cause the other buildings positions. I having trouble with some buildings ideas/positions yet.

Gonna see theirs codes. A really useful input. Im not tested long things yet, just a few rounds. Next update i hope that already be solved

Hello guys,
Im not giving up, just step back a time to rethink my ideas. After a post on DF2 showing some of the mod progress i faced a hard criticism, but came on a good way. I know i cant made everyone happy, but the main objective on this project is trying to do the best i can on every corner. Since the concept and graphics.

"Ruins" was launched on a playable alpha/beta/broken version , but the project keep walking toward improvs. I did trowed a huge part of the project and started from scratch.

Now i bring something to ilustrated the idea turning around.

The town gonna focus on a more fantasy good vibe. A fairy tale approach, on a mystical land. So, the mains dwellings are gonna be based on pop rpg culture.

The little guys living on the town ? I show.. the gnome!



The upgraded version is ready too, but not with bones yet. The lineup was reworked and there's a few models ready to show, but not now.

I need first work on the lore, the explanations, the textual part explaining the context.

Well, on next weekend im gonna need focus on another front, so gonna anticipate my new models. Except for the gnome, they have no bones yet, so theres no poses.

Please keep the original lineup, it's perfect! The ruins direction was going fantastic, you just needed to complete the town screen and it was almost complete! This is very disappointing to hear if you're replacing the original lineup. The new creatures aren't nearly as inspired or interesting.

I must agree for that,
for me if it was necessary to bring a Peter Perfect town full of Heroes lore and very formulaic and **** I will have no problem to give you the list of the tough marching orders, however the big attraction of this town it is your own formula and weird ass creative vision, it is cool and colorful lol

do not spend many a long year to deliver the DF2 critic's vision or even NWC vision deliver your own vision, save the Peter Perfect if you will try to make actual canon towns like the Vori town (nobody has made a high quality Vori town oddly enough), but this IMHO you should follow your original gut without applying dry rules cheers lol

These units look interesting, but if they are not alternatives, I have mixed feelings.
The latest versions of Ruins were very cool and with interesting creatures, there was little to an ideal city, so especially at this moment it's a bit strange idea to change it so drastically. Especially that for new units, you'll probably be doing the city screen again because the buildings for the new warehouse would not be suitable.
So I do not know what's going on with this criticism, especially since someone will always find someone who sticks, but it would be better to hear that you are making another new city, and Ruins is still going according to plan, especially that it's a waste of so many graphics and time spent on them , and if any of the Ruins units / buildings match the new concept with the current Gnomes, etc., put something in their place, and the new ones are new, because if in the initial versions you based on WoW plywood and ripples, it made sense to rewrite from 0, but now with very cool models, a completely weird decision, but what's your decision, but despite the criticism is also a lot of people who previously liked Ruins and was one of the few most interesting mods.

I wrote you a PM/Email a while ago, but it didn't seem to get any answers. This project is inspiring enough that I am ready to help out with the artistic side of the project, since I recall you mentioning having difficulties with the portraits and stuff.

So far I've been watching it's development for long enough and I like how it looks, even the changes!

It would be a huge mistake to waste all of the effort spent on the Ruins concept. It looked like it was nearing completion based on your OP of the thread on DF2. Anybody convincing you to throw all of that away for these new designs, quite frankly, is an idiot who does not understand that Heroes 3 lore can be wacky and not related to real life. It's like they never played Might and Magic 6.
