So far the only sort of kit that has any tie ins is the Zvezda Livonian knights, which comes with several livonian auxiliaries, most likely Semigalians or Curonians. We need a proper medieval GDL army kits to make proper Northern Crusade dioramas, mostly about teutons getting boned.
I already have the hussaria, here's some of the finished figures
And the rest I don't really give a crap about. I did picked up a XIth century crusader kit of Italeri's offerings, which is a real fun to paint.

Mining is my second favourite simply because it is so lucrative.
Smuggling isn't really viable as it is just way too hard. Piracy can be viewed the same way at least for early game. And bounty hunting is a quick way to make some cash but it doesn't have much depth to it.
