hmm some ok ideas but a lot of your creaures suck! I mean maybe you should take out some of the really bad ones (dove nightingale mocking bird) I really dont see how these creatures could possible be high lvls. You really need to drop most of your creatures to be honest i mean even eagle and owl are way to similar never mind mocking birds and doves! Why have you got human type heroes like amazons and shamans and no units that they fit in with?

Since in HMM4 there will be 2 level 6 creatures I think a good element to go along with the Ancient Behemoth is another element of the thunder bird to go along with it. I like the thunder birds after effect and I think that there could be more elements just like it maybe.

Need some originality in new towns
I really hope that in the new HOMM the designers don't waste all the new town types by sticking them full of dragons, elementals, and other well worn fantasy cliches.
I agree with the earlier facory debate though, that all new towns should remain authentic to the HOMM universe. With this in mind, how about a sort of Lovecraftian horror type town. Basically run by demented alchemists and torturers, it would involve the manipulation of basic humanoids into hideous monstrosities. There could be a human spider, or a giant mound of undefined flesh (low movement, attack, defense, but loads of hit points). You might have to capture wandering peasants to experiment on in order to build upgrades and creatures.
Just an idea!

my idea for a town
This is an elaboration on my idea for a Lovecraft themed town type. Thanks for responding BlackDragon, as a first time poster, it's nice to know people read what's put up here!
Level 1 creatures: Sightless wretch / Leper
Level 2 creatures: Disembodied hand / Head in jar
Level 3 creatures: Madman / Torturer
Level 4 creatures: Poisonous moth / Giant moth
Level 5 creatures: Prometheous / Bride of Prometheous
Level 6 creatures: Human Spider / Human Centipede
Level 7 creatures: Blue Slime / Red Slime
The idea with all of these is to have the upgrade different to the original rather than necessarily superior.
For instance with the level 2 creatures, the Disembodied hand is very quick but weak, while the Head in jar cannot move on the battlefield, but can send out waves of telepathic energy to damage opponents more. This way, the non-upgraded units never become obsolete, and there are essentailly twice as many useful units to play around with.
I'll elaborate more on this city idea if I get interested feedback from the group.

Really who need a uniqe unit i mean your slime arent that creative is there anything else special about them this isnt a good idea. I think good ideas really have to be thought through like the Eygpt idea and the Ice town idea those are real good any thought through. Well I have an idea on a New Inferno even though its knocked off the charts
Level 1- well ill post later my ideas if you have any post them for the new improved inferno even if its not going 2 be used anymore I think we should also re-modify the Devel too something stronger

Incubus, for the Sucubii.... they should have no retaliation vs. "Humanoid-Male" units... and can cast Hypnotize vs. a similar unit once per combat. Additionally they should heal themselves through the damage they inflict (but NOT ressurect dead sucubii).

I'd kind of like to see something along the lines of a merchant/mercenary town. The way I see it, there would be a new hero type called mercenary captain or privateer or something along those lines. They would have the special ability of eliminating the morale penalty from mixing troop types (they'd probably be a little weaker than the other heroes to make up for this)
The 2 first level dwellings (that is how it's going to be, isn't it?) should be something boring like thugs or something. Their sole purpose in life is to go up and hit people.
The other 3(4?) dwellings would be similar to the refugee camp in homm3. That way, you'd end up with a scraped together sort of army with a real warriors of fortune feel to it. I figure that the advantages that would come from potentially having the top level creatures in the first week or two would be balanced by the fact that it would be difficult to build up any large stacks of armies. Of course, balance is always an issue, but we do the wishing and leave 3do to worry about the details.
This town would also, of course, have artifact merchants and freelancers guilds. I was also thinking that maybe marketplaces should count double when determining exchange rates.
