I like him actually, eyecandy is the most important thing.
He's not as bad as people are making him out to be, tho he's severely underpowered compared to what I expected, not saying he should slay an entire field in few hits, but yeah, that pillar regeneration being RNG based kinda hurts in my nether regions.
Also, what I hid from you is that I'm a Noelle main, which makes it especially funny since I basically roll with a duo Geo team, the worst possible combo. On a good day tho, when the stars align and the pillar works as intended Noelle becomes a tanky lawnmower.
I also crafted the wrong spear for geodaddy, which kinda makes me sad, since as you know very well those prototypes are less likely to come across than a 5 star character 
EDIT:: Interesting analysis as to why I could have struck gold, too bad not even into three months of life and devs are already idiots lol
