Poll Question: The last skill
This is it. Heroes Endgame. You know the final battle is coming any day, but right now there are options to choose for your main hero to have the best chance to emerge victorious. You have Logistics, Earth magic, Air magic, Wisdom, Offense, Intelligence and Armorer in your pocket now. After this, there's no turning back. It's all in.

Should probably have picked it a long time ago, but I'm gonna go with Diplomacy.

I picked Water, but this is phucking biased because I rarely pick Intelligence. Who the phuck even choses that skill against the dumb AI?!? You're cramming Intel down my throat so this poll doesn't mean 5hit at this point, because instead of Intel I'd pick anything else (I play WoG and in WoG other skills are more interesting than Intel).

How can you say no to 100% more mana?! (even more if you are an Intelligence specialist)
Intelligence is a very powerful skill.

I can because I don't need it. The way I play H3 I am always able to assemble wizard's well fast, and ww + 200-300 mana /day is enough for me to clear the map by spamming DD, TP, and whatnot. Intel is pretty useless in the games I play, which is why I almost never pick it. I would rather get fire magic... or pathfinding... or whatever

Right, the Wizard's Well ruins Mysticism and kinda ruins Intelligence, good thing it's not allowed in my game.

I choose Tactics
If you ask me this skill is underrated. It gives you extra move for every creature you got. This way even Hydra can reach enemy

Yeah, earlier in the 2nd poll or so, someone said the pros swear by Tactics. I don't know why it's shunned by the general population, but I don't know why the pros love it so much either. No demonstration, no proof.

Of course tactics is very usefull, you can reach enemy shooters, protect your own, set up bait stacks and probably even more advanced tactics.
But if you just want to play a relaxed round of noobish H3 or maybe even hotseat, and you have to arrange your troops every single combat for that skill to be effective, it can become annoying,so you start to skip it and if you always skip it, why take that skill in the first place? Thats just my opinion

If the game has gone on long enough for you to max out your skills, the game was decided long ago, and therefore most of your choices are meaningless

That really depends on what you are playing. For some maps (like one of mine) it might even be impossible to win the map before you have maxed out all skills and like always the proper skills are really important.

Polyglot be right. Multiplayer is a very different than AI against. You have to rebuild your skills again also the whole game. I recommend you play by the spirit. It's balance.

You can build maps which require a specific set of skills acquired in a specific order, and you can make it take ages, but the vast majority of games aren't like that. You either play much faster paced games vs. human opponents, where you won't have time to level so many times, or you play vs AI, where skills are picked mainly for convenience and don't have a serious impact on the game.
It's like me saying Navigation is the optimal first pick, because otherwise the enemy I designed to be too strong for you at that point will catch you if you don't take it.
Maxing out all skills usually means that you are long past unbeatable, like playing unnerfed Necro on an XL map, or that you've already lost, but don't know it yet, because for example, you're playing against unnerfed Necro on an XL map.

Yeah, makes lots of sense
One would argue that he can protect his shooters and set up bait by using normal moves. But I sometimes found myself unable to do that, because of the fodders' low speed. However, IMO the biggest advantage of Tactics for those 2 mentioned purposes is to minimize combat movements. Because defending units don't get morale, I think it leaves baiting & shooting troops more chances of going double. Has someone done a research on this?
BTW, @RerryR, could you enlighten me a bit more on the "more advanced tactics"?

Rerryr covered most of important and usual situations, but also tactics are surprising and versatile so more options might be available, you just have to look outside the box.
Like when the terrain has particularities which makes from tactics the winning skill. Getting a rock in the right place and being able to hide behind before any other move, thats something.
Another situation is advancing your strong shooters, thats a x2 damage.
If you know your opponent has area destructive spells, as meteor, chain, berserk, tactics is your friend, create spaces in your army with tactics.

I wanted to mention that if you have Tactics, you can remove the enemys Tactics, so he can't use it against you. That is also pretty nice.
In regards to the poll it seems we are going for 3 magic schools and no Diplomacy, that's weird.

When using tactics you are allowed to see your opponents unit placement before the fight, so you can optimally position your units.
