Lol right? Since when does elegance translate into edgy?

Dooku is like the epitome of class and sophistication. Man is one of the best duelists out there and usually fights with one arm behind his back. Dude also fights off 3 assassins while blind and in his pajamas. What more can you ask for

3. Grand Moff Tarkin - that guy nearly outshines Vader in Episode 4 from the "bad guys" team. Peter Cushing's performance is outstanding and his character is unique among the high-ranking imperials with significant screen time in the original trilogy that there's nothing mystical around him and he's as human as it gets. Clever, pragmatic evil human;

I agree, Cushing was excellent and the character is a great "bad guy". Some fans tend to overlook Tarkin now. I am guilty of that myself sometimes. If I were making a "top 5 Star Wars villains", he'd be there.

Darth Vader (best villain of all time, especially the voice)
Obi-Wan (Old Ben played by Alec Guinness, not the prequel General Kenobi)
Han Solo
Boba Fett (because as a kid, the idea of a "swiss knife warrior" was very entertaining to me and I used to invent my own versions of him with diferent gadgets)
Count Dooku (because Christopher Lee's presence is always as cool as Darth Vader's voice)

Very good picks if you ask me.

I'm not really crazy for Boba Fett, but I can understand the appeal. And I agree with you on Alec Guinness.

Boba Fett:

1. Shows up
2. Uses his jet pack once
3. Gets light sabered in the back
4. Falls into pit

He has cool armor.

For ones who like Tarkin, there is a comic out there where he manhunts Vader:

I actually never understood why he is such a cult classic. Guy has literally one of the lamest deaths in the trilogy...

But yeah, cool armor.

Forgot to mention one character, but he actually never made it official: Sith Emperor Jar Jar Binks. Shame this crazy ass fan theory never made it through...

wasn't Darth Jar Jar somewhat confirmed by Lucas at one point? he just didn't went through with it when the fans threw a massive hissy fit over Phantom Menace.

Except he doesn't actually die in the Sarlaac. He escapes.

Retcon, one that's been retconned again anyway. Truth is, he did die an ignoble death after being essentially eye candy, but he was too popular for a loophole not to be created

we here don't regard disney 12 year old fanfic as "canon". EU is still legit.

Yeah I really hate this "New Canon". Disney's stuff is really lackluster and lacks all the depth the EU had. I also only like the EU because it didn't butcher characters like the "New Canon" has, i.e Luke.

Also as this is a Star Wars themed thread can someone answer this question that has been bothering me for years.

When Droidekas fold up into their ball form, how do they start rolling? There is no explanation for it, and the closest thing I have found outside of canon is the theory that they have an internal gyro that let's them "shift" there weight forward.

There's this official DK book, I think I had it somewhere but can't find it: https://www.ebay.com/p/Star-Wars-Episode-I-The-Visual-Dictionary-by-David-West-Reynolds-and-Dorling-Kindersley-Publishing/1101758. I belive the screen below is from this book, and it describes the workings somewhat.

You can try to decipher it from the bad resolution, but it's something about micro-repulsors that work in sequence... so yeah, there is an explenation somewhere.

Because his minimalistic but well-portrayed base as an enigmatic "badass" allows anyone to expand upon as much as his/her imagination can stretch. This works infinitely better than a whole bunch of characters with significant screen time but poor stories or bad development (read - Boba Fett > the whole cast of the sequels, except Leia and Han Solo because they already have solid backgrounds).
