Poll Question:
[HotA/WoG] the most useless skill?

So some opponent/player chooses the best skill, he/she doesn't choose improved skill like HotA and/or WoG, because it's always be bad, etc

Go away!

I know very well, but voters can verify it, if you vote here. Don't vote if you haven't played WoG and/or HotA.

ugh, it's over an year since I played WoG so I don't remember what each skill does, but what I do remember is that ever since I've known myself as a HoMM fan (which is 1999) I have hated Ballistics with passion.

The way I play games Ballistcis has no value for me because I never attack castles, and if I play against the AI and do need to attack its castle... well, the HoMM AI is retarded so ballistics or no ballistics is the same thing: the AI will succumb.

So yeah, this skill might be improved in WoG (actually, I am dead sure that it's improved), but since it serves no real purpose to me... Ballistics is what I vote

First Aid, because that poor tent gets destroyed so easily and even if it wasn't, the skill still wouldn't be really useful.

For me, it's scouting. Yes, I can see a little further on the map, but unless I spot an overly large opposing army coming at and can retreat before it's too late, the extra vision doesn't help that much.

Scholar I find quite valuable. If at least one fairly mobile character (with town portal and dimension door) has it, then I can easily train all my heroes without having each one have to visit each town on the map.

Ballistics becomes more important if one uses the GOG setting that lets arrow towers gain experience. Otherwise, I can take it or leave it.

Learning causes a hero to level up faster. All things being equal, that's an advantage over heroes who don't have it.

)) I had a good chuckle

I win by defeating the AI, obviously, but I play ONLY like this...

WoG - XL+U randomly generated map - I landlock the AI's hero in a place where it can't bother/harrass me - victory / loss condition of defeat specific AI hero (the one I landlock) / time passes - clear out the entire map (utopias, dwellings, etc) + learn and upgrade all 19-20 skills + build all of the towns + allow all tier 5+ monsters on the map to grow - months 10, 11 and mid-12 I engage all 5+ tier monster that up until that point I have ignored so they can grow and hopefully join me - end month 12 I attack the landlocked AI and... usually lose

Then I reload the autosave until I either win, or get bored of losing and start another game and repeat all these steps again

Voted Learning, a 0-1 level advantage is definitely not worth wasting a skill slot for.
I also hate Ballistics with a passion, so that would be second worst.

I think it's still better to be able to level the enemy's gate 1st turn and its walls and arrow towers in a few turns than having a double-shooting ballista and control over own arrow towers.

Maybe if the AI did'nt charge out of the gate like a fool, it could have some use. Even when it's defending, it's attacking, if you know what I mean.
And Ballistics does nothing for scouts or town defenders, only hero(es) that attack towns.

A second. What AI actually does that? In HotA it never charges out of the gate. Besides, in PvP Ballistics gives a clear edge compared to all of these other skills.

A lot of ignorant answers, to an ignorant poll.

Guys, those skills do not have same effect in wog and in Hota. Learning, for example, has a 50% chance to give extra skill in wog, so is godly. Ballistic in wog, combined to first aid and artillery, gives warfare, which is the best ever skill -  can heal hundreds of HP, kill entire stacks, revive units and so on.

See, comparing apples with bananas. Why such poll?

Ah ok, Ghost.

I play HotA and AI always charges out the gate when defending. Only if I have few/none ranged units it will sometimes stay behind the walls.
I suppose it could be more useful in pvp, if sieges are allowed.

What difficulty do you play on? I always play Expert or Impossible, where the AI has good army and uses annoying strategies and stays behind the walls.

If AI calculations says: that hero with that army has a high change of being the victor he will pursue you. If chances are close or it is in disadvantage it won't.
Phoenix4ever, point for you. You are pursuing an AI that thinks it can beat you with ease, so you're not that terrible at fighting.
