Phoenix4ever, point for you. You are pursuing an AI that thinks it can beat you with ease, so you're not that terrible at fighting.

Huh never thought about that, but I think you are right.
So AI "thinks" it can kick my ass, but in reality I'm the one kicking ass.

I think I played too much on the Cursed Template. I mean, I am many times technically weaker, but the AI remains behind walls to grind my army with what it has.

WoG actually improve useless skills.

First Aid = ressurect any kind of creatures(can ressurect elementals/golems aswell)

Learning giving + power ups

eagle eye can teach spells once you have wisdom and spell book

Never played WoG so can't say but for HotA Learning is the most useless. You literally sacrifice and skill slot and invest 3 levels into gaining 1 additional level lmao. At least Eagle Eye and First Aid actually do something, even if that thing is largely useless.

I don't see how Artillery, Ballistics, and Mysticism are even considered in the same realm as those 3 skills. Artillery is really good for creeping, especially if you're playing as Cove, Ballistics is a great skill in single player, and with the buff, Mysticism is almost as good as Intelligence.

I'm not saying it's the worst skill ever, but there are many things that ruin Pathfinding, Angel Wings, Wayfarer's Boots, Fly, DD, native terrain and Nomads.
Of course Navigation on a map with little to no water is also pretty useless.
Or Archery if you have 0-1 ranged units.

I sort of think that pathfinding should be combined with logistics. At least in HotA where its only 20% now. Archery is a skill I really like because it can be either really good or really bad depending on the situation, but not in a way where its map dependent like navigation.

It kinda bums me out that Orrin is the only archery specialist honestly. Archery isn't that great on Knights because their shooters are IMO pretty mediocre. Rampart I don't usually take it because they only have one shooter, but to be fair that shooter is the most important stack in your army for most of the game so there's definitely worse skills. Great for Tower because they have 3 shooters, 2 of which are good enough to use in the late game. For Inferno and Necro it's pretty much useless(honestly I think Liches are overrated and they're really your least important of the units that don't suck). Dungeon I don't play much so I'm not sure how important or viable Beholders and Medusae are. Stronghold same thing with Castle. Fortress its useless, and it's weird that Beastmasters have such a high chance to get it. Conflux I think its pretty good although its hard to preserve your Storm Elementals sometimes. Cove probably makes the best use out of Archery, since both of their shooters are absolutely kickass and you'll have the pirates at least in every stage of the game, plus it also buffs the already amazing cannon.

In HotA I'll say Eagle Eye...
In ERA/WoG all these skills can be pretty good or even OP, depending on your WoG settings or mods you using.

I guess it depends on who you play with.

If you use Dungeon and have intelligence as a skill, its really hard to run out of mana making Mysticism really useless.

Ballistics is good for armies that don't have high level flying units like Barbarian.  Those Rocs might find themselves lonely behind walls when attacking.  Thank god they have cyclops to help

Overall, I think eagle eye is the worst.  I mean, if you're attacking a town and learn the spell the AI is using on you, if you beat him, you'll just get that town's spells and voila.  Maybe if there were some spells that never appeared in the mage giulds, but rather each hero had 1-2 unique new spells, then sure, eagle eye would be useful to get spells that they wouldn't normally get.  but until then, it sucks lol

I'll take Eagle Eye over Learning any time.
Learning will give you 1 extra level, if you are lucky.
