Fanstratics - A Spiritual Successor from the lead game designer of HoMM 3
Fanstratics - A Spiritual Successor from the lead game designer of Heroes of Might and Magic III
So, Gregory Fulton seems to have a new game in the works.
Gathering information from;
Fanstratics by Gregory Fulton
We don't have a lot of information on the game so far, but just having Gregory Fulton on board weighs quite heavy for me. What do you guys and gals make out of this? Will we see something very similiar to HoMM 3 or will it be something entirely new but with "hommage" payed to the old strategy game? 2D? 3D?
Speculate with me!

Not that I believe that we will see NWC again in the form it was before, I do believe this to be a step in the right direction. I mean, I have lost all hope in Ubi doing anything at all with the franchise. So this is really getting my hopes up. Fulton is still involved in the Heroes 3 community and he does have the skills to put a great game together no doubt.
Some key points of importance for me:
*That Greg keeps communicating with the community (The newsletter sign up is a perfect way to start)
*That creatures at least somewhat resemble the lineup we see in the HoMM games (at least that's important for me..)
*We don't get WoW-like graphics
*Gameplay is similiar
A huge bonus would of course be if there are map editors etc to go with the game too (if it is a game fitting for that).

Yea, uhm... Not sure about this. If it's anything like what JVC did with his mobile game.......... It's not the second wind of Might & Magic, spiritual successor or not. I'm not at all optimistic that this is in any way the future of their legacy. I would love to be proven wrong though, so if it's a worthy spin-off, more power to them.

Too early imo.
As much as I'm happy and look forward to any info, being overly hyped won't do anyone favours at this point.
But I must say the choice for the artist looks very promising. If the person who drew the champion were to make the concepts for the game, it would be great news. I like the style of his works, especially dragons (dragon 1, dragon 2).

I've been burned too many times being optimistic about heroes to not be a bit wary, but this is definitely good news! Between this and Songs of Conquest, maybe heroes or at least similar games do have a future after all

Stevie said: I really enjoy it, unhindered by the common inconveniences that come with mobile gaming. That in itself is a very big plus and I'm really glad they marketed the game around that mentality. Though the game is great on its own, I feel I'm getting addicted. I have the symptoms, like dreaming about combo multipliers when dozing off. I guess playing the game 12 hours in a row is not a healthy thing for the mind
...
I know after a point you stopped liking it but you should remain honest regarding your overall experience on it.

I was able to communicate with Mr Fulton and here is some extra information:
- Justin Gerard drew the Fanstratics Cavalier
- Fanstratics is final name
- square grid for the adventure map
- hex grid for the battlefield
- no anime/cartoon graphic

I personally doubt Greg Fulton would make it a mobile game. I mean, that'd be suicide.
@Liso1
Nice, thanks for the info!

Hm, definitely not feeling the name, so disappointing to hear it is the final name. Feels clunky and too focused on the genre of the gameplay over the actual game.

Name is horrible. Sounds like a guy in his teens made it up.

No anime/cartoon graphics is the best thing.
The name is painful, should really be changed.

The first newsletter arrived yesterday and says, among other things:
Quote: Anything I can do to help?
As of this writing, the Newsletter has over 700 subscribers. Not bad for an ‘accidental announcement’, but for a successful crowd funding effort, I estimate we will need at least 50,000 subscribers. Why? My research shows, around 20% of Newsletter subscribers (10,000) will convert into paying backers. With some mainstream publicity, I expect an additional 5,000 ‘non-newsletter’ backers. This turns into 15,000 supporters, which puts us within reach of my low end budget approximations.
As we are very early in development, we have time to grow the community. Most Newsletter subscribers reside in Poland and South Korea, but there is clearly an absence of subscribers from Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, USA, etc. So, if you want to help... tell your friends and spread the word.
If you are an ‘influencer’ (streamer, youtuber, etc.), and would be interested in helping promote the game, I’d like to hear from you.
So, given that we finally have a chance for a good HoMM-like game to see the light, maybe it will be good to give it some promotion - for example setting up a banner here in HC similarly to the one for JVC's Creature Quest, pinning this topic and possibly creating a dedicated subforum later on when there is something worth discussing (right now there's almost nothing), those who host any sort of HoMM-related channels around the Internetz can link the subscription to the newsletters, etc.
And by the way, it's confirmed that it will be a PC game.

Looks like some cheap mobile game. Spiritual successor is nothing more then a PR move to gain some interest (everyone knows fans of the franchise are starved for any news). So nothing other then what Ubisoft has been doing for the last couple of years
Pass.

Mobile game can be good too. We should give a chance. More MM games more good games. We still waiting for shoot in target!
No manga graphic suggest that its not the same like Ubi.
