Youtube Copyright issue -Please help
Hey guys,
My most recent Heroes 3 video guide about movement received a copyright claim for using the game's terrain sounds throughout the video.
https://youtu.be/3Utv8dwaIZQ
The owners of the audio tracks are mentioned to be Rob King & Paul Romero. For the most part, I never had problems with Youtube about games but right now I quite confused.
Did Rob King & Paul Romero really bothered to strike my video?
Do you know if I can contact them?
Please, I really need help here.
Thanks in advance.

Knowing Paul, I'm almost 100% sure he didn't strike you, and Rob King probably didn't do it. Might just be Youtube (or perhaps, Ubisoft too?!) doing its 'job'.

None of my previous Heroes 3 videos got a strike though and the video is not even popular and it was instantly striked after the upload.
Assuming that the owners of the tracks are quite around these forums, does anybody know if I can contact them?
Sorry for insisting but this is quite important to me as it's really hours and days of dedication and work.

Also, as far as I can notice, the Highlands theme is used too, which was written by Docent Picolan (R.I.P.) founder of HotA and former leader of the project.

You are just very unlucky. Half or more of Youtube content is illegal, so sometimes they have to point fingers at someone, but not so often otherwise they go broke. See here.

Yes, youtube has tracked that as well and it still mentions that it belongs to Rob King & Paul Romero. Had it been a track from the original game I wouldn't be much surprised but a fan made soundtrack to be instantly spotted?
This exactly how YouTube informs me about the copyrighted content.
I mean look at the detail there, they even recognize which theme it is?
Searching The Highlands (Grass Theme)
Rob King & Paul Romero
Crossing At The Stronghold (Rough Theme)
Rob King & Paul Romero
The Search For Greater Lands (Dirt Theme)
Rob King & Paul Romero
The Pride of Erathia (Main Menu Theme)
Rob King & Paul Romero
Wandering Through The Desert (Sand Theme)
Rob King & Paul Romero

I believe you are right about the unlucky part. I know that basically every content, even about a game, would require a permission but I though that it no longer was such an issue. Main problem now is that I don't know whether my future videos will receive a copyright claim.
Can't really describe my frustration..

Ok guys, so I spoke with Lexiav, a HoMM3 Youtuber, and he got whitelisted by filling in this formular, since the HOMM3 music is owned by Ubisoft and managed by Haawk now:

Its banditism but as you know copyrights 'law' is horrible and they can using this law win in judgements with you.
You can only use ost if its no reaction but if they told NO! You may only try using service high costed lawyers company.
But probably youtubers dont want pay a lot only for using music in old game movies with rather small number of watchers.
So probably we will see MM net movies destruction.

I started to get desperate since I filled the formula and no one contacted me while Youtube kept striking all my Heroes 3 videos...
.. until I accidentally checked today and all the copyright claims were gone.
It seems like it worked but it is quite weird that I wasn't notified by Haawk.
Anyway, thank you very much and please send my thanks to Lexiav as well!
