Factory is still a stretch nevertheless. I wouldn't go claiming it is more lore friendly than Forge at least (I didn't dare touch the creatures' position in the canon either lol, I got reasons to not attempt that).

Meanhwhile at 3DO HQ back in the 90-00s:

NWC guys reminescenting while having a brainstorm: "Guuuys remember that one creature we were fighting in Jungle Temple campaign?"

More on-topic, there was a guy who created a lineup idea for Jadame town on Aeolwyn's Legacy (game developed by an NWC dev) Discord server. I could ask him for permission to share it here or something like this.
____________
Enshackling time itself, heralds of the Ancients among their heat-depleted land.... Who could they be, who could rally the beings of the East and the North and control the mortals' fate?

Oasis would be good, since there is no desert town other than Stronghold which does not have middle eastern vibes.

Forge would be OK but so many failures make me have little faith in the project.

And I would like Kremlin but Russians seem to be OK with being represented by Castle themselves  I guess Red Castle visual conversion is close enough, though I of course see them more like Tower.

HotA towns are not more lore-friendly than Forge, indeed Forge was to start the process towards science-fantasy like it was on the Might and Magic games and restore the storyline. Their factory idea seems like a step back instead of forward. Plus making everything closed source and uncostomizable abnd forbidding scripts is a disservice to H3 modding.

Another fun faction idea is cyber-castle where Angels are explicitely robots, Zealots unhood and reveal they are cyborgs, archers shoot explosive bolts with modern carbon composite crossbows, pikemen use double-headed laser pikes, and Knights have automaton horses and assault enemies with electric lances. Oh, and all heroes are Jedi-like. After all they are the cross of "knight" and "monk"
