interesting take. i haven't followed the simpsons in a long time, and it's funny how that guy pinpointed much more eloquently what i started seeing in it myself: that it was becoming fake. that said, i have seen it from time to time, and despite the humor becoming more ridiculous, i usually had a laugh or two(my favorite sitcom, after all, will always be "third rock from the sun"). that said, i recently watched two episodes from the latest season, and they were both trash.
it's not like you can run out of things to mock and rightfully criticize about mainstream society and society in general; so the writers don't get to use that excuse. that most shows these days don't dare cross cancel culture sjw's and their owners/pushers, makes me hate most "entertainment" in general(and seems to resonate with many more people than only myself). the lack of a spine, the lack of a sane voice throwing the insanity back in the faces of the ever-popular insane; it shows where we are as a society today: when not even cartoons that once held society under scrutiny and actually attempted to hold those who bid the world ill-will accountable, no longer do so, but actually EMBRACE what they used to rightfully ridicule. this is why i can't bear to watch regular television anymore. there ISN'T ANY opposition being displayed TO it.
without an intelligent counterculture or voice to stand against braindead mainstream culture, there is no outlet, or deviance from, cookie-cutter assembly-line idiocy. you can see how that lack of a voice AGAINST the bs, allows the bs to flourish, and multiply.
of which you can see literally everywhere, today. it's called "public programming" for a reason.

I agree.
The "Apu" controversy is the best example of how society has changed https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-56731420. For better or worse? I have my opinion but it's unpopular.
TV shows are loosing there "spine" on account of snowflakes. Should I persecute that older school bully who made fun of my speech defect when I was but a kid? Should I blame my childhood insecurities on that kid even though we are both white? I suppose if I was theoretically of different color this would shed an entirely new light on it? No, that is what actually life should teach you - you should learn yourself how much worth you have, you don't need a staff of behaviouralists and psychologists and bs wokes holding your hand.
There are still a few animated shows for adults that "dare" to make fun of society like Paradise PD or South Park, but this is bound to change. Imo it's better to steer clear from politics nowadays and focus on "sillyness" or pop-culture tropes like Rick & Morty does. It's simply "safer".
In case of Simpsons it hits hard cus I really adored the show back in the day.

did you see the last episode of south park? they've been declining for a while, too. the last one was anti-counter culture in the extreme. i remember when they made fun of people questioning the bs story mainstream media and the government gave on 9/11.
and it's not just cartoons that once called out bs for what it is that are doing this: pbs, whom i thought would have more integrity than typical bs pure propaganda channels, did a special on the waco mass murder; and they parroted the "official" fed version of the story. call me naive, but i was in disbelief. the same channel that teaches children to share and their abc's through children's programming, teaches government lies to adults. even sesame street isn't what it once was. there's a kid's show on pbs called "sid the science kid", where the only white kid on the show is a dumbass. not kid-dumb, as the other non-white kids are just kids, but a dumbass; bordering on retardation. anti-white leftist programming, even in a little kid's show. and in public schools? don't even get me started. they're teaching anti-white racism(among other sjw bs) at earlier and earlier ages.
it's both sickening and enraging. i remember growing up in the 80's and 90's, and just wanting people to get along, regardless of color. now, they're preaching anti-white hatred, mainstream consumerism, and all the flavors of sjw bs literally everywhere in western society.
i remember when people used to question and critique their media. now it's just sjw's pushing their owners' bs and censoring any opposition.

100% this. Also, when I heard Camille Paglia talk about cultural collapse the first image that came to me was that dreadful Lady GaGa episode
Lesson from History: Transgender Mania is Sign of Cultural Collapse - Camille Paglia

Curious that Homer's enemy is the highest rated episode, a rather dark episode about Frank Grimes, and relatively realistic.
And I never did notice the three eyes crow in the new opening.
