yogurt can be sweet and savoury though. Icelandic Skyr works great as a spread.

ITALIAN food > everything else. The only country that can cope is Spain.

We can cope. We’ll actually win when it comes to meat. They’ll crush us when it comes to desserts and pasta/bakery stuff though. However, Italians lack yogurt, which does wonders when it comes to stuff like pasta, dumplings, even kebabs. I never understand why, in the West, they treat yogurt like cream, we already have cream for sweets.

You can't. You lose when it comes to meat, because you have no pig meat - which means no ham or bacon. Italians also eat birds, by the way.

Yoghurt, well, I found that this brand beats most anything.

Turkey is good, though. It's just that I don't eat lamb (on principle), so I'm down to chicken or beef. Otherwise I really like your filled crepes (don't know the name anymore), which you can eat on every market, freshly made for you.

Spanish food is pretty awesome as well, but their sweet stuff is too sweet. Otherwise, tapas are - or better, can be - awesome.

Look, you uneducated primitives, YOGHURT ISN'T SWEET, only when it's sugared. It's great for making sauce (especially with cheese), and it's also the main ingredient for Tzatziki, which is a special kind of aioli, but with yoghurt instead of mayo, plus cucumber and lots of garlic.

Trix Rainbow Berry Blast Yogurt.

The correct spelling is "Yogurt".

Also, strawberry banana funsplosion.

Those Turkish yogurt dishes will make you fat. Trix only has 100 calories per serving and has fortified vitamins and minerals added to it. Everybody loves magnesium with their yogurt.

They're called "bison" ffs.

And they're not endangered anymore. After gratuitous amounts of bison sex, there are now many herds raised across the US. A bison cheeseburger is an excellent choice of food.

My friend who traveled through USA was very disappointed with the food. He said with such rich culinary possibilities it's suppose to be a gourmets heaven. Well, it turns out most food they serve is greasy and inedible. He was very disappointed, although it was his opinion.

Shame really.

On the subject of cheese, I actually love every kind, especially on Pizza. Actually cheese and eggs are something I wouldn't want to live without.

Didn't see any mention of it, but Spanish also have pretty good cheese like Manchego which they eat in small triangular slices as tapas.

Well, everyone who ate grilled "oscypek" knows it's the ultimate form of cheese, but let's not talk about obvious things.

Honestly though, I actually remember an article from 2019 talking about artisans' cheeses from the US:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-48915578

Basically, the reason few Europeans knows about artisan cheese outside of the EU is because you're living on a slave plantation. Your Trumpian government heavily tariffs cheeses to keep suppliers from ever wanting to buy it. And it's not just the US - although it is a large producer of artisan cheeses - but also cheeses from Canada, Australia, etc. Australia does a lot of dairy farming and likewise makes some very good cheeses, not that the average European would ever know about this because your government tariffs it.

So the claim that your own cheese is better is bogus. If that myth were actually true, your government would never, ever feel such a strong need to tariff it to keep people from accessing it. You have lobbyists in your corrupt agriculture industry that strangle the market and attempt to perpetuate cultural stereotypes about things like wine, cheese, beer, among other things. It's a business interest to do so, of course, but the consumers and the people are the losers. These allegedly top tier cheesemakers in Europe don't want to have to handle real competition so they instead get the government to kill the competition for them by throwing tariffs on everything. It doesn't exactly convey confidence.

Aha! Finland became the world! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.worldatlas.com/amp/articles/countries-who-consume-the-most-cheese.html

Why? Our cheeses are high-quality and only we eat Holland, France, Italy and Greece for quality requirement! So you know Finnish style, now you can trust in Holland, France, Italy and Greece. But you should try our cheeses. I don't know why not sell around the world. Maybe only Russia got a cream cheese. Not top and expensive. It fits well to Russia. It's bread cheese.

This article is bogus. Who would want to import, let alone buy US cheese in the first place?

Look, it's like somebody pounding their chest and claiming to be the world's best runner and then they refuse to compete with any challengers without a 50 meter headstart lol. Please. Am I suppose to take that runner seriously or am I suppose to laugh? I think I'll go with option B.

I'm not at all saying that places like Italy don't make lots of really good stuff, but all the same, it's obvious that they're compensating for something and all the tariffs speak for themselves. The purpose is to block off their own population from the international market in order to benefit a small group of people who have lobbied for protection because they are afraid to deal with actual competition.

Lol, it’s funny to read the Latinized transcirption of cacik in Greek. (Tz=c, caciki). It’s one of those food among dolma and baklava that Turks and Greeks always fight endlessly about who found it. Personally, I dont care. If you have a Turkish or Greek restaurant near you, go ask for it. It’s great indeed, the best version is watered down (it’s like a soup) and served with ice. Olive oil and mint also goes well with it.

Btw JJ, we also have fish meat among others. But right, no pork indeed. Since like Turkey, Italy is also surrounded by seas on three sides, I’m assuming they also have many fish specialities but frankly I have no idea what Italian cuisine is like when it comes to fish, never tried them in that field.
