That experiment might not result in ASI though. Humans are in general quite stupid when you compare to the theoretical vastness of ASI intellect. Could result in AGI, perhaps. But at the point of AGI you would have to switch off the need of simulating the human brain and instead set it's goal to go further and give the necessary resources for it (meaning at least the access to the internet, which more or less houses what our species know so far). Since the human brain is also itself quite limited. It's just hardware. And when hardware is upgraded/exchanged there is no need to retain previous software limitations (which includes coding to simulate said limited hardware).
