I have an idea that you can learn only definitive number of spells from your Magic Guild - according your Magic Skill level.
For example if you have basic Primal Magic, you can write down only 3 Primal spells.

Our hopes for Heroes VIII!
It was said in one of the Q&A that we would be able to spend a valueble unique resource to get spells that didn't show up in the mage guild but it would be costly.
____________
Quote:We plan to introduce additional factions in future updates and DLCs.
Bold added by me. The fact that they split DLC and updates implies to me that they're planning on adding one or more towns as non-paid DLC. Maybe we'll see some classic towns like Stronghold and Tower in updates while DLC will be more focused on weirder stuff. Maybe that's major copium on my part, but it is interesting.
It was mentioned in one of the streams that they plan to add faction(s) during EA.
Also, someone asked about dark dwarves being in the game, and a dev responded, “canonically, they’re in Jadame ”
I would think they’re at least in as a neutral, or at most they could be their own faction down the line.
HoMM I had 4 towns, HoMM II - 6. Eight towns from start makes HoMM III quite a unique installment or, rather, an exception. I think, 6 is more than enough for EA. I would add extra 2-4 factions with add-ons, provided the game was a success.

Im out. This looks so bad. Temple looks like a WoW mobile game. Hive looks like someone used H-III inferno and changed the image to H-VI building sprites (even the general layout of the town!!!).
Necropolis looks like a joke. Go to hell with the giant satutes alread.
Meanwhihle this is what a small pack of moder made.....
Dungeon look okayish. It's better than so-called town screens from HoMM VI and VII. One of the way to improve it without step backs from general art direction is to mimic HoMM III screens. There are more to them than meets the eye. The developers should ask themselves why Cove and Factory look as they were drawn by the original artists. There's still time to fix it. Town screens should be believable. No grotesque, no feeling of random placing.

For as long as I have been here, even if not as active, don't think I didn't notice my change in atitude with this one.
I wouldn't minde if this was a small game set in Ashan. I Actually like most of those games. Even Heroes VI I have some fond memories of. But this, this looks souless.
And I have to say, H VII's expansion killed my enthusiasm.

Honestly I do like it. The base model/philosophy seems to be solid and them being the "superfans", like alphyna, is great
At this moment we know that graphic will be customizable to some extent, like seeing contures on/off, different wog of war, different angle of camera (not yet fully confirmed), different colors tones and such small but very handy graphical tweaks.
Also this game is being developed for 4 years, so it can be right where it should.
- The game is set on the continent of Jadame, which is under threat from a mysterious demonic power, prompting the rulers of Dungeon to seek alliances with other factions despite deep-seated grudges. Players will navigate a non-linear campaign where their choices influence the fate of Jadame.
- The Early Access will feature six factions: Temple, Necropolis, Sylvan, Dungeon, Hive, and a mysterious sixth faction, with more factions planned for future updates.
- The game includes three singleplayer modes (Campaign, Randomly Generated Maps, and Skirmish) and three multiplayer modes (Classic, One-Hero, and Arena), with additional features like matchmaking, leaderboards, and a map editor.
- Combat is conducted on a hexagonal battlefield with unique abilities for creatures and heroes, and the game also promises features like an observer mode, a random map generator, and plans for underground and sailing mechanics.
- The developers have no plans to explore other worlds like Ashan, focusing instead on Enroth, with ongoing post-launch support and community-driven content in the works.
Some new Exploration and Combat vid (I believe so).
(I have no idea how to embed video in a post pls help)
At 6:08 in the video, there appears to be a firebird, or at least a lower form of the Phoenix. Which is pretty sweet! I think Sylvan will end up:
T1 - small flying fae
T2 - satyr/fae archer, with a warrior style alt upgrade
T3 - some walking melee unit
T4 - Kirin looking thing
T5 - Druid - summons flying insect thing
T6 - mountain/forest giant
T7 - firebird/phoenix
