Too tough
I have just tried to play the might campaign on the hardest setting and can get nowhere, its way to hard i mean you dont even have a castle nevermind an army. What do you have to do to succeed?
My guess is get an army big enough to beat the nomads to get a nomad place but even doing this and extremley slowly raising an army to fight the pirates so you can get your first castle. How long would it take getting an army from one nomad tent? Anyways if anyone knows how to do this id really like to know.

Don't know why some people insist on playing the highest level... I tried impossible level in Heroes3 once and never play on that level again. It's not as fun for some reason.
I played the Life campaign on Intermediate level and all others on Advanced level.

IMO, it's opposite. It's LOTS of fun. You feel like you've accomplished something when playing adn winning on impossible. Not so on easier difficulties. IMO champion difficulty is WAY too easy in HoMM4. The stacks are too big for the comp to wipe out so it's not hard at all. The main reason is lousy ai added to the stack size.

LOL impossible level is the "only" level if you ask me!
Too easy otherwise.

1st the one where you have no base and have to fight hundreds of pirates to get the wood art to get one. I mean you start of with nothing im able to get the 2 berserk places and the centaurs but still this is not enough to take on pirates or the nomads even if you wait weeks and weeks

Interesting how you guys brag about how easy impossible is, and then don't answer when Spiderboy asks how...
So, all of you playing impossible difficulty blindfolded, bound and gagged, answer this question, both to enlighten us poor souls and to prove your words.
So are there any (wo)men for their words out there?
Brag well

I meant it's way too easy in normal scenarios when you you and the comp starts equal(exept for resources).

time
All the H4 maps, campaigns I played so far, and the same with most games- the difficulty level only affects how long it takes to eventually win. Instead of AI increasing in aggressiveness or tactical challenge, it just gets more forces.
I didn't try the Might campaign on impossible yet, but I'd guess just try to wait the weeks, and you will probably barely win the first battle. Once you get a town though and can recruit new hero... getting any summoning skills means a win eventually. It just takes a very long time and is boring.

I said the AI sucked, I never said i beat anything on champion (not that I've tried once, but anyway) difficulty. The AI can suck to a great extent and still beat me because he outnumbers me greatly...

Every average ToH player beats the AI blindfolded, bound and gagged, at impossible difficulty. Even at handicap maps like Barbarian Breakout itīs too easy to be even a little bit challenging.

Talking is cheap.
Just beat the Map and then report in the time it took in days. Or just keep quiet about how you could beat it. Do not send in messages that you can do this and that, when you have no intention of doing it anyway.
The big problem on this map is not the AI player. It's huge stacks of neutral creatures.

*sigh*
Look at
http://www.heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?FID=4&TID=4658
I asked the very same question and got no answer, too. It is very funny to see how people start to lecture about this and that, but in the end noone give you an answer - I think this is because noone has managed to play this campaign on highest difficulty or has even tried to do so.
I've tried everything I can think of. I rushed to the nomads, but there where three dozens of them agains my berserkers and centaurs, the hero is much too weak. I waited weeks and months to face hundrets of pirates. You have no magic and therefore you have no "tricks". I think, champion difficulty in the might campagin is impossible whereas it is too easy in the life campaign.
I then played the might campain on advanced. The first scenario was a bit hard, but as soon as you manage to get master stealth, you can finish the campaign alone with your main hero and a few immortality potions.

Perhaps its been too long since they've played and they don't remember the specifics.. Strategies aren't written on paper, they're formed in your head on the fly as you play along. I think mainly people are saying it's easy not because they know the tricks to the map, what to do, shortcuts, etc.. but they're just exploiting the poor AI.
I haven't played Might campain, so I can't help you there, sorry.

In this case the poor AI has nothing to do with it. Even the dumbest AI puts you down with 800 pirates and 500 bandits when you've got only 100 centaurs, 150 berserkers and not a single spell. On champion level your army is heavily outnumbered in the other campaigns, too, but in the might campaign you do not have a town and you do not have spells when you start the first scenario (life campaign -> 3 towns).
It is easy to philosophize about poor AI and how easy you can win against it in other scenarios. People who didn't play this campaign, say it's easy - people who played it, say it's impossible. Give it a try and play the first scenario of the might campaign on champion. Exploit the poor AI as much as you can. And then come back, tell us how you did it and enlighten us.

I haven't tried 1st campaign on champion yet but my guess is it would be a lot of waiting around for troops.
Will try it now and post back how many days.

I think the settings in all homm games are not good.
You should be able to decide on the following levels:
computer strenght: varying from weak-average-strong-very strong
resources: you would always get as much resources as your enemy
neutral creature stacks: small-average-large
this way you could still have an easy game with large stacks, or have a very difficult game with small stacks.
as it is now, you can only have an average game, or a very easy with small stacks and poor AI, or have a very difficult game with huge amounts of creatures and a very tough AI

Well so far I got to the shipyard in:
Day 5
week 3
Month 2
Didn't need the nomads.
Get the cold potion and immortality potion from the caravan.
Freeze came in handy.
I had 79 Berserkers and 77 Centaurs.
Ended up with 25 Berserkers and 69 Centaurs.
Could probably shave some more days off this as I did it pretty quickly.
As for taking out the hero on the island, trying that one next!
