I think that they the rings for the QP's are great. And whoever said that Val would have to change all of the Avatars is wrong. The stars change automatically. Who says you can't just slightly altar the web script to put rings in specific places on the avatar instead of red stars below them. It would be accomplished the same way.

Wow. I like the new gem style better--it's a little easier on the eyes, I guess. I wonder if you should try something for post count--you "earn" the gold border around your avatar? Or will that look too cheesy?

Give us general coding instructions as to how to do that, and perhaps it would be more reasonable to understand just how easy this would be to accomplish in such a manner.

From what I can see in this page "rta.gif" are the red stars and "star.gif" are the yellow.
I can make the gem style stars tranparent and then it's just a matter of overlaping the original jpg with the gif stars.
This would mean that I would need to make 10 different variations for each permutation of stars.
I'm not sure how your current coding stands so would have to see it to try and work it out.

...remember that this runs on PHP. I'm sure it's possible, but it might not be quite as easy as it sounds. Javascript should work if you embed it and recall the function if you can find it though.

if Val has to use Javascript to get them i'll have to say, no way! Java is sloooow and unstable...
not that i believe Val will make that change in the first place, it's not worth the effort...
