Never Winter Nights HC Team
If there is enough of us I thought we could start a NWN HC team.
Anyone who is interested post your NWN user name here, if there is a good response we will create a team.
Mine is Sir_Elric, what else?
If you don't have the game I highly recommend it!

Ive had my head down in the Neverwinter nights toolset and created my own module called:
City of Melnibone in PW Story at GameSpy.
or direct connect IP - melnibone.dyndns.org:5121
To those of you who have the game drop by and try it out.
I'm running the HCR v2.0(Hard core ruleset) Which basically means you have to eat, drink, rest...
Based on D&D rules.

BUT not just yet... first i have to upgrade my PC, get myself a DSL and finally get the LiNUX client of NwN (and no, I'm not making an account with the win32 version...)
one Q... do we start with new chars or can we use our old ones? ...and one more Q... are custom items allowed? (haven't played online at all...

no multi experience
here too.
I guess I have to upgrade first. However, I am unable work the patch.
I have downloaded 1.0to1.24 (or something like that). It is a zip file, and there is no executable files in the zip package, and no explanation how to use it.
SOOOO... How do we use that patch, any ideas?

The only thing that sux with the game is it requires an above average machine.

...I've played online before, but not at all with an online only character, because I didn't feel like taking the time to make a new one.
I have a level 20, fairly well equipped Druid.
However, my brother just got "grounded" last night, so I don't have any games left.

Personally I like starting with a new character as in the local games there are way too many cheats!
For teams I would say that we would use our own characters mine is presently a 13th level fighter and 3rd level Ranger.
There are different types of games some with "local characters", your own, or some where you create a new character which can only be played in that Module.
Even in the games with out "local character" you can still EXPORT this character for use in other local character games.
Confused?
As for manually downloading the patch try this:
1. Download the patch you need, DO NOT unzip these files, the Update program requires the patch to be in a .zip format.
2. Place the patch file in your Neverwinter Nights install directory. The default install directory is "C: NeverwinterNights NWN ".
3. Now select 'Update' from the Neverwinter Nights game launcher. This will launch the NWUpdate program. Click 'Update' on the NWUpdate program, and it will install the patch you have downloaded.
Neverwinter Nights is now patched.
I plan to create my own module and base it on HOMM
This will be sometime as I have to get my head around the toolset.

as for the update... it would be easier to just use the auto update feature of the game... if you still prefer the manual way, you should fins a howto in the official website...
oh and SE... as far as cheats go, the only cheats that could make a difference, render any character "illegal" ...the game itself doesn't allow the use of such characters... depending on hte server settings of course...

Sounds like fantastic fun...AzureMajesty is my name and Paladin is my game.
Legal characters play alot better than some of the created ones. Nothing worse than playing with someone with a imported level 20 demi-god capable of wiping out an entire army of foes with one hit or spell.

NARFELL- Server PW Story - Room
This server has a roleplaying game where death means death!
No hack slash here, well there is but carefully heh heh.
Based on the hard core D&D rules.
For those of you who are interested come join us.
My log in name is Sir Elric and my characters name is Elric X and I'm a 3rd level fighter, at the moment heh heh.
X stands for 10th, as I have lost 9 others!!!
Roleplaying means just that, in the game you are the character and are expected to behave so.
Beware, this module is not for the fool hearty, death means death, unless you know a friendly cleric who can resurrect for a costly fee, and you have someone to carry your corpse back to town!

Hey I just got the game...it's kinda pirated so do you think Gamespy still allows it? Like BG1 & 2 and Icewind dale, all pirated and can still play MP And anyway my carryover character from BG is a pure fighter class. Half elf, and my nick is Po|nT|3L@nK. Hope to see you...
Yes and I do think neverwinter nights, like all other games before it, rocks. I love AD&D RPG. Just luvvit.

Yea my friend loaded my original copy and "kind of" pirated it too, the only thing is you can't both be online with the same key so you will need another key than the original to play on the same server at the same time.
These are available on the net if you know where to look.
Not that I condone pirating!!
It's well worth paying for this game, IMHO it is money well spent.
Unlike HOMM4, which I have come to realise bores me to tears!!
