Chaining...or not ?
Hia all
I have heard some ppl complaining about the missing *chaining* part of HeroesIV but I have also heard alot talk for it eg. that it makes the game more realistic.
SO I thought I would put in my 8 cen't on that ( plz. correct me if I am on the completely wrong track
1- Artifact chaining ( lol ) you have a bunch of scputs running around and collecting gold ressources and arties. And then suddently you find a *killer* artie ! and you need to get that to your main asap. just set up a chain of the fastest scouts you can spare towards your main's army. Then move them as far as you can MINUS 1-2 tiles on the adventure map then let another scout take it ...etc. and wham bam thank you maaam, your artie is on your main within a few turns. This has saved me behind in many a hotseat/SP games
2- Trough's / Stables / Wateringholes.
Those are incedible helpfull ( altho ) they are not accumulative ( visiting the same one 2 times in a row same day ) but they are ( as many of you know ) accumulative from day to day.
3- And I think loosing one or two movements on 1 day ( if you stand besides one of the above ) it is better to wait and get some more movements the next , specially if your in a bit of a hurry
So in general I think you CAN chain, just that it is more realistic than in H3. I know some of you would say ; What is this nonsens , but I think it is chaining, or should I say chaining.....'ish

another use
another handy use is to have this "chain" set up to the closest town or santuary from where your main heroes are, so u can quickly resurect your hero, you can pass headstones like an artifact

or your main hero can take the horse on his back when the horse is tired... and then start running for further movement.
this thing is so realistic i mean... it could happen in real life

you can chain anything, but creatures and heroes. About dead heroes, the quickest way is to have another hero available nearby who gets the stone, attacks the nearest monster and retreats to town to resurect him.

This is true, but not a good tactic... considering you dont have tons of heroes just lying around like in h3... in h4, you can hire 1 hero per week in your tavern.
