Newbie Tourney !!! Veterans needed for coaching !!!

ok i just brainstormed a bit and think i found a good kind of tourney for newbies which also is supposed to help em to improve.we had a similar tourney a while ago in the german league iniciated by xarfax1 and.

only newbies will be allowed to start in this tourney. and if any veteran is playing in it "undercover" he should be booted out of TOH.

the idea is as following: all newbies who register and start in this tourney will get a Veteran-coach. this coach has to practice with this newbie during the complete tourney and tell himm all the little things which could help him to become a kickass player . i think if the newbie wins the tourney or reached the finals his personal coach should get an award too

but before i work out a page/detailed rules for such a "coaching tournament" i have to know if there are enuff veterans outhere who would take a bit of time to coach someone else so please reply here if u wanna support us and you think you can teach a newbie a few tricks

P.S.:  with this post i offer to coach someone in this tourney - i hope more will follow

Hia all
Well Motor, a similar *experiment* was tried about a year ago on the original Myth page ( Wiz was the *creator* ) I think. Some Vet's signed up and some got a newbs as * partner* but it never worked out!! I , at the time though ( still do ) that it was a cool idea. But I think it takes alot of effort from the one who starts it and even more to finish it ( read ie. YOU start it ie. YOU have to mail the *slow* part be it the Vet/newb to take some action.
Well just my 7 pence

if u read my post carefully u see that i wrote rules and so isnt set now. so far im notr looking for noobs im looking for players who think they could teach someone else some tricks. means skilled players prefered.

be sure if i make a rule page i think about this im not THIS dumb

but first we need some coaches

.. yes i remember this tourney. It was 2 in 1: A big success and a unsuccess.

It doubled (!!!) activity. And some newbies did get hardcore players, which now can compete with vets. I think about approx. 20% of it.

Bad thing was that this Tourney didnt come to an end, as some newbies werent serious enough about gaming (thats why they are newbies).

But the teaching thing in it was fun. Seeing the newbies getting a kickass was cool.

So this is the time for the Vets to share some "knowledge" (well maybe wrong word cause its still a game).

I GO FOR IT!!

If im seen as a Vet you can count me in Shaff..schaaff...shaaff...shaf..mmh whatever

I'd be more than happy to coach a newb.. although I have some limited time.. but I figure 1 or 2 mornings a week is sufficient..

I think it would be a good thing also not to seperate, but perhaps add map preferences beside players names.  Vets as well as newbs.. The last thing i'd want to do is train a newb to play GW when all he can say is BFH BFH BFH!

ANyway I am definately in!..

@SS if Archie is training.. I'm a noob too so back off!

i just wonder what stivens comments has to do with topic?
its nothing but spamming in a thread that should contain serious stuff about a tournament!

shouldnt his post be removed for irrelevant issue?

or is this a different situation from the other thread where we didnt know the person ?

makes me wonder why we seperate!

a crazier idea... How about letting those coaches who want to and have time to watch the games?

Of course any kind of trading is strictly prohibited.

I thought of that & actually some do that or back in season 4 they did on the zone.
It's actually a good idea like at a real school & an idea is to get two noobs & let them face each other.
Have a vet sit on an island with conservatory & he can help the noobs step by step & show them some poiters on chaining etc.
Unlimited turns of course
