As a movie, LOTR TT was everything I had hoped for.
But I think that Tolkien would have turned in his grave if
he knew about the movie...

Quote: But I think that Tolkien would have turned in his grave if

I'm certain 'young' Cristopher Tolkien (John Ronald's son) Fell out of his chair.
But I've remembered something 'new' that sucked about this sucky movie. My bashing is far from competed! I've started a holy crusade against the foulness of the Two Towers!
Well, here comes the new mistakes.
1. What the F**k did those elves do in Helm's Deep?!?! Shouldn't Haldor 'of Lorien' be busy on the other side of Loriens fair lands, fighting off the hordes of Mirkwood?
2. They made such fun of poor Gimli when the Hunters crossed the Plains of Rohan. Why? He ran just as fast as the other two. Dwarves are much stronger than 'weak' men, even stronger than the kin of the kings of Numenore.
3. Minor complaint, similar to the 'Bombadil-error' of film 1: Where was the Glittering Caves of Aglarond?
Gotta go! Screaming teacher alert!

I havent seen Two Towers yet - slack I know. But maybe thats for the best with some of the "changes in the movie" :/ I dont know why they have to screw upgood books, but it seems it always happens when a book is made into a movie, and personally I would just much rather read a book and imagine things for myself.
I think I just really want to see the movie, so like Shaowei I can compare the images in my head with the effects they use in the movies .... that and well theres Strider..... /drooooooool

You should see the movie anyway!
If just for the movie itself: It's absolutely breathtaking!

Heh I will oneday Just I hate seeing one and then having to wait a year for the next, its as annoying as finishing a book and having to wait for the next in the series Most days figure I will wait til theyre all out and see them all at once, am sure some theatre will show them altogether
Call me impatient ^.~

Ooooh, another Tolkien purist.
The movies were FUN.
This was PJ's Rings. You have the book to return to whenever you want to. Nobody can take that away from you. Let other people enjoy themselves!
If one wants to one could find thousands of flaws in the book itself. (Personally, I HATED the deus ex machina situations most. That, and the songs. Gahd, the SONGS!)

Nah, the songs were pretty nice. Esp. the one Bilbo wrote about Strider.
But, yes, the books have some flaws.
But the movies have more!!!

STFU what are you saying? This is about the movie, not the book. There's hardly any other movie that tops it.
