No Titans?!!
Hey, I just thought of something. Since there are going to be no upgrades in HOMM4 (or so I was told) and they already have the Giant in the game, does that mean that there will be no Titans in HOMM4?!
Titans weren't my favorite creature in HOMM, but they are good enough to stay in the game!!
What gives, will there be upgrades or no Titans?

... it´d be a sad thing indeed - hopefully they put them in one way or another - after all they´re a trademark - multitude of fans just love them, their portraits are numerous on boards; on the other hand we don´t want homm4 to be only an advanced version of homm3, maybe a little change, ah well... we wait and see

Shooting 7th level creatures are a bit too strong, I think. Especially in the later stages of the game, when you've got a REALLY BIG army

aaaaarrggg i love titans ( but they r not that good is dragons )
i hope that the titans will stay otherwise how can the black dragons have any fun they sometimes need to kill some titans to keep in shape hihihi
but i really hope that the titans stay they r 1 of mine favorites
but they must be a little bigger

No more Titans. I hated them anyway. I'm glad that they are gone. I think that is funny, and now the Black Dragons will kill all.

Ummm...they will have titans. Yes, upgrading is different in 4. It was different in 2 also. If I were to guess I would say they would be having giants as one high level unit and titans as another for the same town. This would make sense. That's what i thought they were doing with the game...making different building options.
The game will be a bit differernt. I know its hard for some people to get...but there will be differences besides more towns and creatures.

I think there should be upgrades AND a choice of creatue. I mean, how hard would it be to upgrade them? Just change the color on most creatures and add a sword to the Titan. Besides, there has to be upgrades. 3do said there would be over 100 creatures (back when they were talking about making 14 towns with only ONE set of creatures). There are only 72 creatures with 6 towns if you don't have upgrades. So, either there are more towns or will be upgrades.
And I think the second choice for the lv6 Academy creature is that stupid Golem Dragon,not a Titan. Where else would it go?
Oh, I also hope that there are still 7 spots to put your creatures. In HOMM3 it sucked that if you took all your creatures, you had no spaces left. That extra space would add more strategy to the game!!!!

If that stupid "golem dragon" could appear in h4, why not titan ??????
Dragon is cool but sooooooo many dragons is BORING !!!!
Green, red, gold and black........come on, NWC, are you going to make up a rainbow or what ???
Azure, crystal, rust and fairy are OK but still too much.
If NWC insists to keep so many BORING dragons in h4 but get rid of titan, I will be VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!
So, KEEP THE TITAN !!!!!!

AAAAARGH
I didn´t even know there will be no upgrades in homm4. Homm3 has 8 (9 if you count conflux) castles in wich all creatures can be upgraded. First off i was mad there would be only 6 castles, but then i figured maybe there will be like 10 creatures in every castle. Now i hear you can´t upgrade a single creature in homm4. The most fun in heroes is the amount of creatures you can get. I don´t know, maybe i don´t have all the info i need to say there will not be enough creatures. But i think homm4 really needs a boost in creatures.

Ok the topic has drifted away, but here is my opinion on Titans:
c'mmon guys you might really like the Titan for being a powerful creature, but do you really think he is that powerful!!!
Here are my pros and cons on Titans:
-------------------------------------------------------
Pros:
1- Great Power.
2- More Powerful against the Black Dragon.
3- Just clone it and see what you can do with double the power.
--------------------------------------------------------
Cons:
1- A Shooter (would be better if he was only a Giant with a speed between 16 and 18 and be able to use like 2 swords to attack 2 creatures at a time). Shooters can be blocked!! and he would be much more useful if he was able to stand for himself and not to use some technique to keep him unblocked, you will waste magic and army power to protect him, since he is more useful if he can shoot from a distance.
2- Your opponent can cast some very strong fourth and fifth level spells and that will hurt you, won't it be better if he had some special resistance against magic, just like golems, lets say somewhere between 60% and 70%.

I believe Titans were introduced to compete with black dragons and all they could have done was to make the phoenix more powerful (more health and damage). A phoenix then would be able to stand out infront of dragons more than titans where the dragons will attack with an increased damage due to hatered.
Bye Bye Titans, Welcome Powerful Giants. I do like that change and hope that the giants are really powerful enough to be the best creatures of their town.
