HoMM4: Winds of War Preview
GameSpy has posted a preview of Heroes of Might & Magic IV: Winds of War, the second expansion pack for the recent turn based strategy game. Winds of War is due to hit shelves on February 25th. Here is an excerpt:
There are three new creatures in the game. The Catapult is a level 4 life alignment unit that lobs fiery cargo on the head of its enemy and may also be used as a siege weapon. The Frenzied Gnasher is a level 4 might alignment unit that is immune to magic and possesses the berserk skill. The Gnasher costs 4,000 gold and hits like a small tank. The Mega Dragon is another level 4 creature, this time of chaos alignment. This wicked unit is 50% magic resistant, uses an arc breath attack, and hits like a much larger tank. The Mega Dragon is arguably the best unit in the game. It costs 8,000 in gold and some sulfur and has a weekly growth rate of only one, but a single Mega Dragon can whip any other level creature in a one-on-one fight. They're brutally efficient.

my opinion
If it were about caring for making a better game then expansions would be great. They would do what they say, "expand the game." However, if the main goal is to sell some more cd's for some "new campaigns" then what a sad exapansion it will be for anyone who likes to play other humans in the game. I will have to look at it before I lay any money down since product is getting pretty shotty....heck still not able to transfer data worth a darn in multiplayer.
Longing for good gameply for all online,
