Defending Heroes 4...
I see a lot of posts, in this posts many times talk about heroes 4, and talk why heroes 4 sucks, well I donīt think so, I like the game, and many of you are agree with me, and I wanna make a discussion about the reasons...
Why heroes 4 sucks??
why heroes 4 great??
my opinion heroes 4 is a great game because:

1. beatiful graphics
sucks
1. bad multiplayer gaming

I tend to agree with Valcyria. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and Lord Crusader might think number 4 is better. However, liking a game for its graphics doesn't really cut it for me. Today, most games have amazing graphics, and for a game to be good, it needs much more than that. I like heroes 3 much better than number 4, simply because I thought number three had the most amazing strategic elements of any game out there and many variations of strategy that they had taken away in number 4, such as relaying of monsters.
I hope 3do will listen to complaints and return to the original gametype when number 5 comes around. Does anyone know if the sales of Homm4 was much lower than the producers expected? Seems like the majority likes number 3 better, or am I wrong?

There two things that I don't like in H4
-Might heroes are much stronger than magic
-I have to choose one creature of two(for 2,3,4 levels)
But there way more things that make heroes 4 better than the previous and now that I have playd H4 I know I'll never play H3 again.

Well, I love heroes 3 too, and I play heroes 3 more than heroes 4, but I think heroes 4 is not a suck game...
The two games are great, but heroes 4 is more different and I think we canīt compare...
I donīt talk about which game is better??
I talk about heroes 4 is a great game...

of the 2 games the best selling has been heroes 4. it is the only MM game 3do that ever cracked the top ten in sales and has sold huge numbers. Commercialy a success. This maybe part of what's wrong with it in my opinion.
Since the game was such a commercial success 3DO didn't have much financial need to really fix the deep problems with the A.I. or Multi Transfer times.
I for one love the multi game play but find it hard to play, as do many others, because of the transfer speeds. Also, the game is unplayable in single player unlike homm3. I used to enjoy loading up a new homm3 map and having a go with the comp to see how it played, I just check the editor with homm4 maps as there is no fun wacking the stupid comp.
Basicly 3DO said we made more than enough money off of this product and are not interested at this time in improving it. We'd rather milk it's single player popularity with crappy expansion mods instead of laying out the cash to capture the online communities interest. It costs almost nothing to develope new campaigns and scenarios, but would cost a huge amount to redesign the A.I. and the multi elements.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it is there motto. From the standpoint of how much the game has made for 3DO it's not broke!
I wish it was though, then maybe they would have really tried to fix it

all of you who say creatures aren't part of the game, you are completely wrong, give the game hundreds of hours and you will realise that troops DO matter, and from that strategies are much more complax than just (wait, wait, mass slow/mass haste or implosion, u actually get to use almost all spells here) and tactics involving both heroes and creatures ... !!!
It doesn't bear comparison to heroes 3 !!!

3DO sucks soo much ppl, they are soooooo lame. I got soo sick and disgusted with them that I decided to stop playing HoMM3 too. I wish all the people at 3DO that took this game out be sexually tortured. They deserve nothing better!!!
Tie them nakeD to chairs and make burns on their sweaty skin with cigarette buds. Whip them for being such naughty sexy programmers!! Plug their mouths and rape their sensitive little arse-holes till they chocke on that plug!!!

Well I think this discussion is like a discussion about a Age of empires fans and the warcraft's fans or starcraft fans, heroes 3 is different in many ways to heroes 4, but this games are a greatest games

hmm
I gave Heroes 4 a big chance, but to be honest, I didn't find it addicting like I did every other Heroes title. Im not saying I hate the game, but wont be playing it. I think there are 2 things that kept me away.
1) I dont like how the hero system is, esp since the heroes are too similar..i prefer the older style
2)Multiplayer came out slow and buggy
Other than that, I thought Heroes 4 was ok, just didnt get me hooked..hence I played it for a few months, then stopped cold turkey, with no real intention to go back

i had an initial shot at H4 to learn about it, then shelved it waiting for multi. still waiting... no point trying to play from australia when multi has transfer problems. Good to hear H4 sold well tho, means they can invest in H5 properly

let's see ... h3 -> earth, air, logistics, wisdom, tactics, intelligence/offence, armorer ?! doesn't that sound like the "only hero" in h3 ?
u can have a lot more variations of heroes here than u ever had there ...

Actually, Id get skills based on the map I played, and dependant on how high I think I could build the hero. but in H4 it became just about the hero, and I didnt have fun building them up, cause I always had to choose between the same stuff, unless I played a map where I got to level up a lot.
Plus if you had 2 barbarians on your team in H4, their image looked exactly the same..was quit annoying
But I played Heroes 3 for 4-5 years and Heroes 4 for 4-5 Months, so obviously there was something wrong with my preferences
