Neverwinter Nights
I've got a question to all those NN fans, tell me about your fav. character, class, weapon, etc. Anything that involves NN that you want. I'm interested to see what some of your best characters are.

Here's some helpful advice that might help you get some more responces to your feild of interest.
1. Don't just ask an open ended question that doesn't illicite anyone to respond. i.e. "Hey guys what do you think of PacMan?"
2. State your opinion or preferences so that you can engage someone in discussion. i.e. "I think that Ms. PacMan is not as fun to play as the original PacMan. I really do well up to level 21 but then I get into trouble."
3. State some controversial opnions on the game itself. i.e. "Blinky really creeps me out, I think it's the way his eyes always seem to be staring at me all the time."
4. Use a little strategy talk to get people to talk about their hints. "I like to trap the ghosts in the upper left hand corner, grab the power pill then scream 'Your Ass is mine!' as I gobble them up."
Feel free too use any of these tips to help you start a new discussion on any of your favorite topics.
Happy Posting!

And this is coming from the person with some of the most intriguing posts I've ever seen, such as "only naked girls read this thread", and the famous, "how to talk to girls online" lol Well...I guess the least I can say is thanks, but I was hoping that someone would post something on their favorite character class, their best weapon to use, etc. Speaking of which, what would any player of NN the best weapon to use against dragons?

And you're judging him by 2 threads... smart
And just to mention, the "only naked girls..." is much more legendary a thread than the "How to talk.." will ever be.

Just got Shadows of Undrentide
NeverWinter Nights for me is as good as D&D can get.
I tipped a glass in honor of WoTC a long time ago for what they did to revolutionize the RPG world with 3rd edition.
Now, I have tipped a glass in honor of Infogrames for their translation of 3rd edition rules to a video game.
Baldur's Gate and IceWind Dale were pretty good. None of them hold a candle to NWN. It has even replaced Morrowind as my favorite RPG of all time. That is saying alot.
I haven't even cracked single player yet. I've been doing my gaming online with my RL friends from back home. It helps me to keep in touch with them and alleviate my home sickness.
If any of you hard-chargers play NWN online or are interested AND want to hang out with cool players, you'll find us over on the Alternative Server side--Turmish Lands.

Neverwinter nights is crap. i hate it, i was so eager to buy it, after loving Baldurs gate, but it was a total let down.
Play Baldurs gate instead.

I think the same Baldurs Gate is better in my opinion, but don't say NN is crap , it's not true some people prefer it's gameplay and story, then of BG's one, we all like diferent things .

Bah! I think the opposite is true. BG is crap and NWN is the bomb! If BG wasn't so...dull...it might be a tad bit more interesting. No quick slots so you can't change your weapon right away, or use a potion right away. No, you have to pause the game and do it like that. No risk in dying. Utter cheapness!

barbarian, i was stating my opinion.
and gorman here, (w/all due respect to the serapharim) is stating his opinion. even if it is wrong, unlike mine.
btw, i like the pausing, and i just guess its what youre used to. if you are used to BG, its a totally different style of game to NWN, so i guess whatever youre used to is better IYO.
But BG is still better.
happy hunting

Err NWN rules. I have all the Baldur`s Gate games (with addons too) but never played them .. yet...
However I played quite some RPGs, but NWN beats the hell out of them... Maaybe there is some argue between NWN and Diablo II
and the guy with the Happy Hunting... Only I have the privilege to say that

My brother and I attempted a joint Baldur's Gate game, and we ended up arguing over who had to take the leadership position. The leader, of course, has the dubious honor of herding the ever-expanding flock of followers. Those guys were a pain in the butt, always wandering off and dying, but you can't get rid of them because the player characters can't survive alone. Also, the game kept pausing while one person talked to NPCs, surprising and irritating the other human player. And only one person could buy things.
In Neverwinter Nights, on the other hand, the biggest problem was my brother's barbarian's undying enthusiasm for opening trapped chests and thereby killing the whole party. Overall, the multi-player mechanics of NWN are superior to BG. The module function is great as well -- we could pick short modules for multiplayer games rather than the monsterous main campaign. Even in single player, NWN has more replay value thanks to player-created content (provided you have a decent connection; I've had issues downloading large modules from the Vault over dial-up ).
Oh, and I like paladins (default or inquisitor package) for single player and rogues for multi, since my bro plays fighters and barbarians.

First of all, wellcome back Hunter!
Second, how many times must I tell you, diablo 2 is NOT a RPG. It's hack & Slash

True true, but many idiots like me still consider it a RPG
As for the topic question...
It depends on everyone`s playstyle. I`ve seen a huuuge discussion on a bord on a simple question:
Which is better sorcerer or wizard...
`nuff said... I know...
Discussions like this can go on, such as:
fighter or barbarian?
druid or cleric?
rogue or ranger
etc etc etc
it`s all about your style of playing. and it`s about multiclassing (I love that, although some ppl seem to hate it).
Nopw I finished SoU and the OC and am proud of it, have to finish Hotu to be considered a NWN acolyte

Druid, sling and staff.
My best character? There isn't any "best" character in NWN. You can build one using module editor if you like.
It also depends on the module. (or DM in reality)
take an example, Druids can't survive in a map without animals and Rogues can't make good use if all the doors, boxs are unlocked.

Eye of The Beholder and Might and Magic series are hybrids too then, since AFAIK they have real time combat. I could be mistaken about M&M though.

So, my favourite character is Fighter, and I choose humans for a class. I take feats usable in fight, like: cleave, power attack and knock-down. I also take skill points for Lore and Discipline. I think that's good, but you will kill my strategy, won't you?
