Time

Time, one of the most used 'things' in the human world. We rely on it time after time agian. But what time did time start? It is a very good question and it's taken hundreds of years to figure out nothing. The time we speak of is not there, for without time, it couldn't have started, because things cant happen without time. And time could not have started without it's self. The problem with time is it is different for every animal fish and creature. That's why cats seem to have such good reflexes (Time goes slower for them). Time is something we can't live without, for without time, we couldn't move, think, breath or anything, because we'd be in a stand still. Time goes fast when your having fun because you're not paying atention to it, but when you're bored it goes slowly because you are paying atention to time. Humans rely on the clock which shows us what time it is. The when did time start question has been asked many many times, and has not been answered, so just for fun I thought we could try to come up with ideas on time, for it could be there, but it might not be.
Any ideas on what it is and when it started?

Time started when humans started.
Why ?
Because humans "invented" time and called it that

Time seems slower for cats because they can make their brain work faster, thus being able to analize more information in less time, making time seem slower.
while for a goldfish, time is very short! It is a known fact(not a legend that someone made up) that goldfish forget everything in 30 sec!
So basicaly,if a goldfish is happy for 30 sec,it thinks it has been happy for its whole life and then just forgets it!If its hungry for 30 sec,it thinks it has been living in hunger for its whole life!
but when did time start?well,Romana said time starts with humans, because humans invented it.that's disagreeable, history starts with appearence of the first civilizations because before that there was no written history to learn!
time as humans think it starts with the beginning of the universe,as the famous "big baing" theory, which kinda makes sense
but if that is the begining of time, then what was before "begining of time"?What was before the time from when we think we know all started?
the question is not:when does time start? I'd say the question is more "What was before time?"
try answering that!

And that is why scientists and those that are religious have all those disagreements.  No one can seem to come to an agreeable conclusion as to where everything came from.  Sure scientists think that earth and everything on it was formed fro a big space explosion but where did outer space come from.  Better yet where did all that 'space dust' and all that other stuff come from.  What if our universe really exists in some gigantic alien's little dish.  Nobody really knows and maybe never will.

there are a few possibilities(scientific and not): either the big bang is a viscious circle that repeats itself (The universe will shrink because of a huge black hole and then "bang"). So time always existed.
or: there was absolutely nothing before that
or: there was not time before, there was only god, or whatever, and everything was still and everything was happenning silmutaneously
or: time always existed, it just started with the bing bang in our specific dimension
or: time never existed, it`s just in our minds

Science

Sorry, but if you had nothing, nothing would happen. For things had to have been there to cause a reation. It's very complicated, but you need matter to react with other matter for anything to happen, like with baking soda and viniger, no baking soda, no reation. So you'd need a whole lot of matter to cause this big bang, or all the matter in the intire universe would have to condense in a huge ball. And if you condensed all the matter in the universe into a ball, it would have a gravitaitonal pull that was so strong, it would probably litraly crush it's self into such a compact ball that it would explode into a 'big bang' like the scientists said.

I don't want to hurt anywon's feelings who belives in god, so I will ask them to not read this next part.

God can't exist because he'd have to have come from somewhere or he's just not there, it's a fact of life, it has to have come from somewhere, like a tree, it came from the nutriens in the ground and the nutriens from it's seed case.

You're wierd, ha ha, just joking

Lets face it, time is annoying, if it wasn't there we'd all be in a stand still and nothing bad could happen.
Hmmmmm... just got an interesting idea...
Okay, if everything just stopped going and nothing moved, not even those ants or planets, would time stop? Mabey, you never know with this terribly confusing thing called 'science'.

I'm telling you, this is alot like how mold is made in those little petry (don't know how it's spelled) dishes.

The mold gets there by:
1) Somebody puts it there.
or
2)The mold spores in the air land on the plate and start to grow.

Nothing didn't come from anywhere, it's nothing, empty space with no matter in it what so ever.
And are you trying to confues me?

Well, space couldn't have come from somewhere, since it is nothing, its empty space, you can't say"where did it come?" or "was it always there?" because its nothing there! The most logical answer to that question would be:since its nothing there actually,it has never come there, the nothingness was already there!
Now the big baing:The most popular theory is matter was concentrated in one ball, smaller than a nucleus of an atom would be today,it exploded into matter and anti-matter,now if everything would have gone correct, all the matter and anti-matter would join again and form the same kinda "ball" and all that would be left is a huge amount of energy, then the explosion would take place again and more energy would be released.
The thing is that, apparently something went wrong! The matter and anti-matter did not join, instead it spread around and formed the universe!
This took only about 1,000,000th of a secund! To think, the universe is ~13,000,000,000 years old(or that's what they think) and most of the work was done in a lot less than a single secund!
There is also a theory of the "Big hole":after the big baing the universe keeps expanding and eventualy starts shrinking into the same small "ball" of matter and energy and the whole process would start over again!
So if the big hole forms now and we all get sucked inot it,don't worry,we'll be back in about 13,000,000,000 years!

I have a few things to say here...

1. Read Terry Pratchett's Thief of Time, there are some good ideas there.

2. The Big Bang theory may not be entirely correct, as evidence shows that the "Big Bang" occured about 13 billion yrs ago, but there are stars that are 15 billion yrs old out there!

3. My theory on the Solar System goes as follows: There are 9 planets in the SS. There are 9 things on oxygen molecules in dog ****. So, our SS is just a molecule of dog **** in God's backyard. That might explain why space looks so black...

What's wrong with belive in god? God is the only good explenation for life and universe. Sure, a sort of Big Bang could be the reason to all the stars and so on, but who was it to set up the things right?
And to the time thing: I think time some sort of medium for us. Like air\water\trees\and so on is a medium for noise. But of course, god stands above that.

What i was trying to say ..TIME is a definition created by humankind.
You think an animal really think of "hey! it's 3 'o clock I have to get somehing to eat"
that would be ridiculous but then again..who knows?

I once knew a deer that did that..  he would go "Omg look at the time, I gotta go do the dishes" and IŽd be like "Hey what about the game?" and heŽd make some sort of deer noice. I didn't know it at the time, but later I found out that he had a dishwasher.

now seriously, I don`t think time is just our invention. Even if we don`t perceive it correctly, things age or evolve, they don`t remain static so there should be such a thing like time. Maybe there are more dimensions to it than we can tell. Even animals have a sense of time, they have a schedule, which is by instict I know, but lions for example, they have to wait for their prey, calculate distance and plan their attack on the herd. Which is not just instict, they do have to think about timing. Cats too, when they are afraid, they don`t always run fast unless you`re very close, because they can somehow calculate how long you need to "catch" them. What do you think?
